BLOWING OUR BUBBLE

Dancing on Ice stars fume as Vanessa Bauer stays living with boyfriend while they split from families because of covid

FURIOUS rows have broken out behind the scenes of Dancing on Ice — with some pro skaters accusing bosses of letting Vanessa Bauer endanger their Covid bubble.

Vanessa is living with boyfriend Rory McCall while others have been ordered to split from families to reduce the risks of infection ahead of last night’s ITV launch.

A source said: “Many of us are livid. We have given up our families for months, and she’s carrying on as normal because everyone bangs on about how sexy she is.

"It feels like one rule for some and another for the rest of us.”

A second insider added: “We are being ultra-cautious about everything because we all want the series to be safe, but if Vanessa is living with her boyfriend that’s an obvious issue.

“We don’t know who he might come into contact with.

“It’s just not in the spirit of how other people have agreed to behave.”

Vanessa, 24, is partnered with 18-year-old Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant, who took a tumble during his first performance last night.

Meanwhile married skaters Robin Johnstone and Andy Buchanan, partnered with Rufus Hound and Becky Vardy, are understood to have agreed not to mix for the duration of the series.

Bosses have even cancelled professional spray tans, with stars tested weekly and urged to avoid public transport.

But a production source insisted Vanessa is within the show’s rules, which require only couples who are both contracted to the series to be separated for the run.

Show stars include Myleene Klass, Jason Donovan and Denise van Outen.

Denise performed in bandages, but did not score well, following a fall in practice that dislocated her shoulder and damaged tendons.
