James Corden’s The Late Late Show coming to UK and Ireland on Sky
Viewers can enjoy carpool karaoke and more just one day after the US
The Late Late Show with James Corden is coming to the UK and Ireland for the first time.
The hit show – which features the hugely popular segment Carpool Karaoke – will be aired on Sky as part of an agreement with US broadcaster CBS – just one day after it’s shown in the US.
Sky1 will also exclusively broadcast a one-off show – The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special – on July 19th which will feature some of James’ favourite moments from his first year hosting.
This will include some of his highlights from Carpool Karaoke – which are Adele, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.
The segment regular ends up going viral – Adele clip for example has been viewed more than 110m times on The Late, Late Show’s official YouTube channel.
While Justin’s Bieber’s one has over 82 million views.
Gary Davey, Managing Director, Sky Content, said: “The Late Late Show has become a global cultural phenomenon and the UK and Ireland audience has delighted in James’ runaway stateside success. There is a huge appetite from UK and Irish fans to enjoy the antics of The Late Late Show first hand and we are thrilled to exclusively bring the show direct to our customers.”
James previously told The Sun that no one was more surprised than him that the show has been so popular in the US.
He said: “What are the chances of a chubby boy, and I’m being generous, going to America to do a top job like this every night and being anything other than a complete disaster?”
“I’m scared I’ll be the boy from High Wycombe who just couldn’t hack it and had to go back home with his tail between his legs.”
