And the 55-year-old star has promised fireworks, slamming "woke idiots" who are campaigning to get 1978 film Grease banned.

He also revealed that Health Secretary Matt Hancock will be appearing on the programme to discuss the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to his social media pages this evening, the TV presenter shared a photo of himself and Susanna on the ITV show together.

Piers captioned the post: "UPDATE: We’re back tomorrow with guests including Health Secretary @matthancockmp

"So much to discuss incl schools, vaccines, & whether Grease should be banned for being sexist/racist/homophobic."

He cheekily added: "(Answer: no, we should ban the woke bloody idiots who want it banned.)"

The remark comes after the iconic musical was slammed as “rapey, racist and homophobic” by shocked viewers - who demand that it is "never shown on TV again".

The hit film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John was shown on Boxing Day on BBC1, and after revisiting it many felt it hadn’t aged well.

In light of the #metoo movement, Black Lives Matter and LGBTQIA rights and awareness, lots of viewers felt it no longer has a place in today’s TV schedule.

In one particular scene, main characters Danny and Sandy are at a drive-in movie when the greasy-haired lothario makes an unwanted play for his date and gropes her breast.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “The drive in/botched makeout session between Danny and Sandy hasn’t aged well. Film kinda glides right into song (“Sandy”) before viewers register the date rapey vibe of the scene they just saw. #Grease”

“Ahhh man. Just watching #Grease one of my favourite films and it’s so of its time. Misogynistic, sexist and a bit rapey,” added another.

Other scenes to cause outrage include "bad girl" Rizzo being "slut shamed", and middle-aged Vince Fontaine flirting with teen Marty at the school's dance.

The call in the scene for all couples to be "boy girl" and the lack of ethnic minorities throughout also raised eyebrows.

Piers will be debating the film, alongside Susanna, on ITV's Good Morning Britain tomorrow [4 January] from 6am.
