Rebekah Vardy’s lawyers claim Coleen Rooney had help writing Wagatha Christie post
COLEEN Rooney did not write her infamous Wagatha Christie post alone, it has been dramatically claimed.
The bombshell message was allegedly put together by ‘third parties’ who helped her write “various drafts” before it was finally posted online.
The sensational claim is made in new legal papers submitted by lawyers acting for rival wag Rebekah Vardy.
She is suing Coleen, 34, wife of ex-England and Manchester United legend Wayne, for libel after she claimed that private information had been leaked to the Press from her account.
Becky’s legal team claim that Coleen’s post accusing her was prepared in advance during her “flawed” investigation and then “rushed” out.
They say: “The post was sensationalist and designed to make the maximum impact.
“It was deliberately posted simultaneously on all of the defendant’s social media platforms in order to create maximum publicity for the defendant’s message.
“It is inferred that the defendant had assistance from third parties in preparing the post and that various drafts were prepared in advance.”
It is believed they include lawyers, who proof-read its contents before giving her the green light, and hubby Wayne.
Becky’s lawyers now want to know when the post was first drafted and who knew what and when.
If they can prove it was a work in progress, with others involved, it is likely to raise questions over the integrity of her investigation.
The documents also accuse Coleen of failing to carry out an investigation to see if the leak was closer to home.
It adds: “The defendant’s ‘careful investigation’ lasted for five weeks and one day, not the five months referred to in the post and did not involve any investigation into other sources of the ‘leaks’.
“The defendant has not alleged that, prior to publication, she carried out any investigation into whether the leaks could have come from her own ‘entourage’ or that of her husband.”
Coleen’s post on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook - published on October 9, 2019 - sent social media into a frenzy.
Becky’s legal team say: “The post… appears to have been prepared in advance.
“It is inferred that the defendant had already reached a (false) conclusion to responsibility on a flawed ‘investigation’ and rushed to publication without properly considering the evidence or making any further inquiry.”
The row kicked off when Coleen told her millions of social media followers she had turned detective after suspecting stories were being leaked.
Becky categorically denies leaking three stories planted by Coleen and also dismisses claims she is The Sun’s Secret Wag.
It comes as the warring wags prepare for last-minute peace talks designed to avert a costly five-day libel trial next Summer.

A spokesman for Coleen said she remains “confident” of successfully defending the libel case.
Charlotte Harris, of Becky’s legal firm Kingsley Napley, said: “The simple fact is that Rebekah Vardy did not leak Coleen Rooney’s private Instagram posts to the Sun and nothing can change that.”
