Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer has welcomed her first child – and you’ll never guess what she’s called her!
The 27-year-old actress gave birth on Tuesday
Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer has welcomed her first child – a baby girl.
The actress, 27 and partner Simon have picked a rather unusual name for the tot – Avarie-Belle Betsy Brough.
Tracey’s mum Jill confirmed the news, telling Hello magazine: “Mother and baby are doing well – the baby is beautiful like her mother!”
Avarie-Belle was born on 5pm on Tuesday weighing in at 6lbs 9oz.
Speaking previously about her excitement to become a parent, the actress told Hello: “We’re over the moon. I still wake up every morning and go, ‘I’m pregnant.’ It was amazing seeing the scan. I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating.
“What an amazing, clever thing to be going on inside my body. I absolutely can’t wait. I’m also really nervous. But I guess I just have to take each day as it comes. I’ve always wanted to be a mum.”
She also admitted that people struggle with the idea of her growing up.
“People still see me as a teenager. I did the Rocky Horror Show a couple of years ago and some people were like, ‘Hang on…Tracy Beaker’s going to be in her underwear on stage?’ she revealed.
Dani rose to fame thanks to her portrayal of Tracy Beaker on the popular CBBC programmes which aired from 2002 – 2012.
Following that she appeared in a few other shows as well as Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 – she finished in fourth place.
Throughout her pregnancy Dani and Simon kept fans up to date via numerous amusing social media posts.
In one she wrote: “Finally found my glow. Oh no it’s just sweat!! Hot flushes are a joy.”
And in another she quipped: “I can’t understand why @RoyalMail only give their drivers 10 seconds to deliver parcels! I’m pregnant and can’t get anywhere in 10 secs!
“In fact before I was pregnant I couldn’t get anywhere in 10 seconds! Have missed important parcels whilst I’m in the house. The driver had written out the card before he even knocked! I had to waddle after him! Xxx”
Just four days before she went into labour she shared a loved-up selfie of herself and Simon out for dinner – which she simply captioned with a love heart.
And prior to that she shared a meme that read “Growing a baby makes me feel like a superhero. A really tired, weak superhero who wants to eat all the time and isn’t allowed to lift heavy objects.”
She wrote alongside it: “#38weekspregnant any day now.”
