John Bishop insists he’ll be back ‘back to work’ in weeks after being hit by coronavirus on Christmas Day
JOHN Bishop is determined the coronavirus will not slow him down and promises to be back on his feet and working in no time.
The 54-year-old star was diagnosed with Covid on Christmas Day, saying it "flattened" him and his wife Melanie.
As well wishes poured in for the actor, he reached out to say he would be back working by January.
John wrote on Twitter: "Thank you for all the messages of support regarding my recent positive Covid test.
"I have been overwhelmed and moved by the amount of messages privately and publicly. Every day we are getting a little stronger and I will be back at work in Jan.
"Keep safe and Happy New Year John x"
His fans were delighted to know that he was doing well and sent him lots of well wishes.
One Twitter user wrote: "I hope you make a full and swift recovery."
A second add it: "Glad to hear you’re on the way back John. All the best."
And a third said: "Hope you will soon feel better and back on tv soon."
John revealed he had Covid by sharing a picture of a notification he had received from the NHS alerting him to his positive test.
John wrote: "This came through on Christmas Day. This is the worst illness I have ever had.
"Debilitating headaches, muscle joint and even skin pain, dizziness, nausea, no appetite, incredibly chronic fatigue.
"My wife and I are fit non smokers and it's flattened us. I don't wish this on anyone."
He added on Instagram: "I know statistics suggest a 99.9% survival rate but that doesn't mean I would wish this experience on anyone. Keep Safe."
The notice, which bore his name and date of birth, showed he went for a test on Christmas Eve.
John and Melanie have been married since 1993, separating for 18 months from 2000 before getting back together.
The couple share three sons - Joe, 26, Luke, 24, and Daniel, 22.
