CORONATION Street veteran Sally Dynevor has revealed she's "still in shock" after being made an MBE in the Queen's honours list.
The actress, 57, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 35 years, has shared her excitement about the news.
Corrie's Sally has spoken about receiving an MBE in the New Year Honours list, alongside singer Craig David, while F1 champ Lewis Hamilton will be knighted.
She told : "I am humbled, grateful and very proud to have received this honour. I am still in shock.
"I didn't believe it was real when I first found out earlier this month that I was to be given an MBE. Keeping it a secret has been so difficult."
She added: "The young girl in those scenes 35 years ago could only have dreamed of the incredible things that were going to happen in the coming years."
Sally has been on the hit ITV show for the past 35 years and is one of the drama's longest serving stars alongside William Roach.
Sally has had huge storylines such as being a victim of domestic abuse, getting a breast cancer diagnosis and most memorably being wrongfully sent to prison for fraud.
