Towie star loses three-stone as he gears up for The Only Way Is Mallorca with a ten-week stay at military boot camp
Arg is left feeling like a “new man” after incredible weight loss
TOWIE favourite James “Arg” Argent, has dropped three-stone following ten weeks of “incredibly tough” boot camp training with ex-Special Forces trainers.
The 28-year-old went from 19st 1lb, to 16st, and lost eight inches from his waist, going down from 48 to 40 inches, during his intense stay at the No1 Boot Camp's weight loss retreats in Norfolk and Ibiza.
Arg has been living at the retreats since early April, and says the strict regime, with 6am starts, has made him feel like a “new man.”
He said: "I am not going to lie - it has been incredibly tough and, yes, I have had the odd lapse.
"But I am thrilled to have lost three-stone and I do genuinely feel like a new man.”
He decided to book himself into the military style program after his weight started to near 20st.
"I always know that I am trouble when my weight pushes to near 20 stone. That really is the wake up call I need to sort myself out.
"My trouble is, I just love my treats and chocolate and sometimes I don't know when to stop.
"I am prepared to knuckle down but it is all too easy to be tempted from the straight and narrow."
And the not-so-large Arg is already enjoying the benefits of his newfound waist.
“I've had to buy a completely new wardrobe for Majorca because my waist is eight inches smaller.
"You should really be able to see the difference when I am larking about by the pool."
The newly single reality star added: "I am young, free and single and not looking for anything more than that at present.
“Majorca is going to be a lot of fun.
“I look forward to showing off the new me."
And he wasn’t alone throughout the experience, Towie co-star Kate Wright, 24, joined him, and inspired him to be the “male equivalent” of her.
"Kate was a really good influence on me.
“I used to look at her amazing body and think: 'I want the male equivalent!'"
