Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn opens up about being a teen mum and the time she found out she was pregnant in a petrol station
The now 25-year-old recalled the moment she took a pregnancy test at a BP toilet near her family home
BRITNEY Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn has opened up about the time she found out she was pregnant in a petrol station bathroom at 16.
On the premiere episode of her reality series, Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, the 25-year-old said falling pregnant was the last thing she expected.
"When I became pregnant my world came crashing down," Jamie Lynn said tearfully on the show.
“I don’t know how you can say this without feeling a little tacky,” the former child actress and aspiring singer said. “I kept actually throwing up.”
After returning from filming Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 in Los Angeles, her friend noticed she kept feeling sick and convinced her to take a pregnancy test at a petrol station near her family home of Kentwood, Louisiana.
“We didn’t want to do it at home, so I went in the BP and I took a pregnancy test,” Jamie Lynn recalled.
"I sat on the thing and we were sat there looking and my friend looks down and she freaks out and I was like 'What? What? What?' and the test was positive and I was pregnant.
"So I got the news in the ladies room at the BP, that about sums it all up."

Jamie Lynn explained that she had told her mum the news by writing her a note and waited in another room.
"She came in and said 'Is this a joke?' I don't think she really comprehended and she called my daddy," said Jamie Lynn.
Stunned, her dad admitted: "For me I think the world stopped a couple of seconds, I did not take it well to be honest with you, it was a complete shock,’ he said gravely. I just kind of lost it for a while."
Jamie Lynn confessed: "I am not going to sugarcoat it, things were not great there for a while. I felt extremely guilty, I lived my life trying to be this perfect girl and I was about to let people down."
But she says she never had any doubt about following through with the pregnancy.
“At the end of the day, I knew I had to make a decision as a young girl myself to do something that I could sleep with every night," she added. "I knew deep down that I was going to have my little girl, even if I had to raise her on my own, and that’s what I did.”
She said she “hid for three weeks in the house with two security guards while the story went out" adding: "It was a real scandal situation at the time."
Nine years later, Jamie Lynn has moved on from her then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge and raises her daughter Maddie with husband Jamie Watson.
She's even released her new single Sleepover in support of her new show.
