Art will imitate life as the cast of Corrie get set to pay their respects a year after Anne Kirkbride's death
THE cast of Coronation Street will this week mark the first anniversary of the passing of Anne Kirkbride with a tribute to the much loved character Deirdre Barlow.
And true to form the soap will ensure there's just a hint of fireworks to go along with the sad scenes.
The entire cast have all been affected by star Anne's death last year.
And fans were left distraught too after it was revealed Anne, one of its longest-serving characters, had died last January.
Anne, who played Deirdre for 42 years, was aged 60 when she passed away and had been off off screen for four months.
Writers created a story line that explained her absence as a visit to a friend.
But tragically Anne succumbed to her cancer leaving much of the cast and millions of fans devastated.
Now to mark her first anniversary producers are giving her on-screen daughter Tracey Barlow a taste of her own medicine.

Tracy, played by Kate Ford, is struggling to stay in control of her family life after she ruined characters Carla and Nick's wedding.
And it would appear her daughter Amy Barlow, portrayed by 13-year-old Elle Mulvaney, is having none of her mum's games.
In the episode Tracy, who has been having some health scares of her own, arrives home from hospital to find Ken and Amy having lunch.
But Amy quickly grabs her school bag and heads out ignoring her Mum.
Tracy later decides to head along to Simon's birthday party to see if she can mend the situation with her daughter.
But her attempts to appease angry Amy are futile and the feud intensifies.
Later in the sad scenes that pay tribute to Deirdre, goes along to visit her mum's grave and asks her for advice.
The shows will air this week and with the sexual chemistry heating up between Mary and Dev it is not to be missed!
