WHILE romance might have been Mission Impossible for many this year, high-octane actor Tom Cruise has found love with his adventurous co-star Hayley Atwell.
The pair grew close while filming the seventh instalment of the action spy franchise around the globe, The Sun revealed yesterday.
Tom, who is 58, and Hayley, who is 20 years his junior, are now very much an item.
Hayley's most recent Instagram post, taken in Rome on November 29, was a picture of her in the driving seat of a specially-modified stunt car, with Tom at her side.
She captioned it: "My new driving instructor. Hope I don’t crash into anything… @tomcruise photo by @christophermcquarrie #missionimpossible #buckleupbuttercup"
Tom, who famously performs all his own stunts, and his British sweetheart share daredevil ways as she has detailed in Instagram posts from around the world.
Hayley, who rose to worldwide stardom as military agent Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, recently posted a video of herself sliding down a set of stairs on set during filming.
She also revealed she has picked up a "stark-raving-mad hobby" of "launching myself into very cold water on the regular" as she posted videos of herself jumping into freezing Norwegian fjords.
Like keen rock-climber Tom, she has been training on indoor climbing walls with wingsuit world champion Espen Fadnes.
And she posted pictures of herself horseriding and kayaking in Norway.
Hayley can certainly give Tom a run for his money after spending months doing stunt training with stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood.
And she took weapons training with Bare Arms, which promises to "turn performers into the most competent and skilled weapons experts in the business".
Dynamic duo Tom and Hayley's love blossomed as they jetted around the world filming the blockbuster.
A production source said: “Tom and Hayley hit it off from day one.
“Lockdown, and all the difficulties that came with it, brought them even closer and they’ve become fairly inseparable.
“They’ve been meeting up after hours, and she’s been to his London pad. They get on brilliantly, and both seem very happy.”
The twosome took in Norway, Venice and Rome once filming resumed after lockdown.
The production was one of the first movies to shut down in February over the coronavirus.
Tom was recently overheard blasting crew on the film they would be "f***ing gone" after they broke Covid-19 regulations by not maintaining social distancing.
It's believed five staffers quit the film after insiders said tensions had been rising over the strict measures.
Tom has pumped hundreds of thousands into the production to ensure it follows rules and goes ahead.
But now the shoot has broken early for the festive season, giving Tom and Hayley the chance to cosy up even more over mince pies.
It's believed Tom wrapped the movie earlier than planned today so he can take a private jet to Miami to spend Christmas with his son Connor.
But we're sure he'll be spending part of his break with his new love.
Tom was previously married to Katie Holmes, with whom he has a daughter Suri, 14, from 2006 to 2012.
After his divorce he was linked to restaurant owner Cynthia Jorge, then Orange Is The New Black star Laura Preppon, then Handmaiden's Tale star Elisabeth Moss.
