Inside Denise Van Outen’s incredible winter party with huge igloo in her garden and private chef

DENISE Van Outen kicked off her Christmas celebrations in style with a festive garden party inside a pop-up igloo.

The 46-year-old revealed her “pre-Christmas gathering” on Instagram yesterday, hosting friend and singer Kimberly Walsh for a dinner party to remember.

In her spacious backyard, the Broadway star made the most of her huge garden by having a igloo tent erected, and decorated inside like a private restaurant table.

Including fur-lined chairs, carpet and a giant bauble chandelier light, the tent was the ideal Tier 2 hangout spot.

According to rules in her hometown of Basildon, which has now been moved into Tier 3, the tent provided ample social distancing between her, partner Eddie Boxshall and their guests.

The mum-of-one even hired a private chef to ensure a fine dining experience, posting snaps of her caviar-laden food.

“Last night we dined al fresco in our garden with our lovely friends,” Denise told her 480,000 followers, beneath a collection of photos from the evening.

“Igloo by @thelittleglampingcompany just the best,” she added. “The menu was off the charts by @private_chef_direct. Scott your food is delicious. Thank you!”

The star’s photographs showed the ornately decorated table laid out with pine cones and pampas grass.

While tucking in to their gourmet food, the central light fixture, fit with a disco ball and adorned with white flowers and gold leaves, dazzled.

Videoing the event, Denise took to her Instagram story to give more insight into their deliciously decadent menu.

“This is your starter,” she filmed chef Scott explaining. “We’re going to go a bit Japanese now – it’s homemade bao buns in the shape of a taco and teryaki duck.

“We made the teriyaki sauce ourselves which took ten hours. Then we’ve got coriander caviar… a truffle mayo injected and a teriyaki sauce on the side as well.”

Denise flipped the camera towards pal Kimberly, who licked her lips as they tucked in to the feast.

Ensuring she was sticking to the rules, Denise’s outdoor bash meant she could have up to six people, including those from outside her household, for dinner.

Keeping things socially distanced inside the tent, the group spaced out around the table before Tier 3 came into play.

Essex was one of many areas placed in the highest tier of restrictions from Wednesday morning, closing all pubs and restaurants unless they can offer takeaway or delivery.

The decision was made after concern arose that the capital was seeing a sharp increase in coronavirus cases before the festive period.
