As Mill Cottage explodes Nicola escapes inferno after sneaking in to retrieve bag of sex toys
Emmerdale is set for an explosive week of action
EMMERDALE'S Nicola King may escape with her life when Mill Cottage explodes this week - but her problems are far from over.
The businesswoman heads to the country home to retrieve a bag of sex toys she had left behind after a steamy session with husband Jimmy.
But Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) soon finds herself trapped under some scaffolding after Rakesh Kotecha (Pasha Bocarie) sets fire to the place in a bid to claim on the insurance, causing an explosion.
Thankfully Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) and Ronnie Hale (John McArdle) witness the incident and come to her rescue, after hearing her cries for help.
In pictures teasing Tuesday's episode, the men are seen pulling a fragile Nicola to safety, before she is rushed to hospital.
But despite later being discharged, the drama is far from over for Nicola, as she collapses at home and upon returning to hospital for emergency surgery, doctors are alarmed to discover she cannot move her right arm or leg.

The 42-year-old actress opened up to the Express about her dramatic scenes, and admitted she was relieved she had a stunt double and didn't have to do the really physical stuff herself.
Asked if she would have liked to have had a go herself, she said: "Having seen the way she threw herself at the wall, no!
"It’s pretty tough what stunt ladies and guys do. I’d do it but I know I’m one of these idiots that would break my arm on the first take.
"I’d be useless. No one would insure me to do it!"
However Nicola has no problem when it comes to the more saucy scenes with on-screen husband Jimmy (Nick Miles).
She explained: "I don’t get embarrassed by stuff like that.
"It’s more about getting embarrassed by your own performance. I’m really critical and think 'Oh, I could have done that like this'."
Nicola's alter ego isn't the only character who is put at risk by the explosion, as Dan and Ronnie fear Priya Sharma and Vanessa Woodfield could also be trapped inside, after they were spotted at the property earlier in the day.
But as the fire continues to take hold, will any of them make it out alive?
The dramatic episodes are the latest in a long line of strong scenes from the ITV soap, which won the top gong at the British Soap Awards last month for the first time in its history, beating rivals Coronation Street and EastEnders.
