BBC staff ordered not to air their undies in shared areas
Pants rule made after Five Live team member left wet cycling underwear out to dry
BEEB bosses have banned staff from hanging up their underwear to dry in office wardrobes.
The order comes after a member of the Salford-based Five Live team left wet pants in the communal facilities after cycling to work in the rain.
And after the offending items were discovered at the Quay House HQ earlier this month, a bizarre memo labelled “high importance” was sent out to all team members.

The message also warned staff that fridges and cupboards were off-limits for dirty hygiene habits.
It read: “Can I suggest that people don’t hang their underwear to dry in the wardrobes please.
“As with the fridges/cupboards etc, this is a shared space and must be kept as hygienic and clean as possible.”
A spokesman for BBC Five Live revealed yesterday: “We don’t like to air our dirty linen in public.
“But the naked truth is that staff members have been briefed not to dry their wet cycling underwear in the communal wardrobes.”
