Romantic Ryan Reynolds gives his wife Blake Lively’s new movie a boost releasing his own terifying tribute of their first date

The Shallows actress gets up close and personal with a sharp toothed predator in her latest flick

BLAKE Lively's loved up  husband Ryan Reynolds has got a dry sense of humour when it comes to promoting her new movie The Shallows.

And while the title might sound like a plot from her days as Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl, we promise you yummy mummy Blake's latest gig is packing a lot more bite.

Pregnant Blake, who recently wowed as the Southern belle of the ball at the Cannes film festival, has swapped her sky high heels for a wet-suit in the movie which hits British cinemas on August 12.

And the shark inspired shocker is set to keep audiences gripped if the trailer is anything to go by.

The film's plot centres around Blake's character who is stranded on a rock not too far away from the beach as a giant shark threatens to make her its prey.

And while the movie, which has just been released in the US, has gone down relatively well with audiences bringing in £4m in its opening weekend so far - Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds decided to make his own trailer tribute.

But for those who think the harrowing scenes of Blake battling with the great white were bad it seems she became one with nature.
She told The Jess Cagle Interview that she made friends with a seagull while she was filming the 86 minute film which she mostly appears in alone.

"He was my friend, and he also terrorised me," Lively said of the bird.
"I was doing scenes where I'd be screaming and crying ... and suddenly I'd feel a little pecking at my leg. It became a Hitchcock movie. Then we became buddies and he would hop on me."
And she later confessed to People magazine that her relationship with the bird was caught on camera.
She added: "I was like Captain Morgan sitting out there in the middle of this pool with this seagull friend.

"But he was cool. He was my buddy. He was super sassy.
"There can be an entire film of just our outtakes of us talking to each other. I thought the movie was going to be a comedy by the time we were done shooting it because of this crazy bird."
