MORE people have watched Netflix drama The Crown than saw the real wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer on TV in Britain.
Almost 29million globally logged on for the fourth series, which centres on the royal couple, in the first week after its November 4 release.
That is 600,000 more than watched TV coverage in Britain of their big day in 1981.
Netflix does not officially publicise figures until a month after a show first comes out — and 21million saw the third series in that period.
However, it has, told members of the cast which includes Josh Connor, 30, as Charles and Emma Corrin, 24, as Diana.
A source said: “Everyone involved is totally thrilled.”
“There was more hype than ever on this year’s series, and arguably more pressure on all the cast, crew and writers.
“But the reviews have been almost unanimously rave - and this is reflected in the first week viewing figures.
