Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke flogs £830 videos of him talking to fans in Cockney accent
WOULD you Adam and Eve it? Dick Van Dyke is getting £830 a pop for talking to fans in his joke Cockney accent from Mary Poppins.
The US actor, 94, records lucrative personal videos but has been unable to meet the “overwhelming demand”.
He has joined celeb message site Cameo, where fans can get him to recreate his accent as Bert the supposedly Cockney chimney sweep.
In 2017 Missouri-born Dick apologised to Bafta “for the most atrocious cockney accent in the history of cinema”.
Empire mag voted it the second-worst movie accent ever after Sean Connery’s in The Untouchables.
Cameo names him after Mr Dawes Sr, another of his characters in 1964’s Mary Poppins.
It says: “Due to overwhelming demand, Mister hasn’t been able to accommodate the influx of requests in the allotted time.

In an introduction clip, Dick tells fans: “Tell me what you want me to say and I’ll do it.”
Last week The Sun told how Strictly star Neil Jones, 38, charges £25 for messages.
