Strictly’s Max George promises The Wanted reunion and insists his mate Tom Parker will get better
MAX George has promised a The Wanted reunion and insists his mate Tom Parker will get better.
The Strictly hunk, 32, says he has told his bandmate, 32, he wants him to get better so they can get back on stage — ten years after their debut single.
Speaking to The Dan Wootton Show on talkRADIO, Max said: “I have told him that as well. I have said, ‘You better hurry up and get past this cause we need to get back on the stage,’ and he said, ‘Yeah we do, absolutely’.
“So he said he’d get over it as soon as he can.”
Tom’s wife Kelsey was pregnant with their second child when he was told the devastating news, which he revealed in October.
She has since given birth to son Bodhi.
Max said: “It was devastating to find out. It’s hard to put into words. It’s not really a feeling you can describe. You’re not really ever aware of how you’re going to feel.
“We all remain really positive. There’s a lot of opportunities, a lot of doors that have been opened for new treatments. He’s really positive and we all are. Tom’s so strong and he’s fighting it and he’s got a mind-set that he can do this. He’s got a family around him which are his world and he’s got a lot to live for. He’s got a lot of support. We’re all rallying around him.
“We’re all of the opinion that he’ll fight this and he’ll be OK.”
Max was speaking after he and dance partner Dianne Buswell, 31, were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.
The duo managed to avoid the show’s infamous ‘curse’ which has made and broken relationships.

He is dating footballer Ryan Giggs’ ex wife Stacey whilst Dianne is in a relationship with her former dance partner on the show Joe Sugg.
Max said: “Me and Stace were talking last night because it was one of those things that come up in interviews, I said, ‘What is it about it?’. I said, ‘Is this an actual thing, this?’.
“I suppose dancers have got with contestants. I don’t whether that was a curse or not. I suppose it has happened. It definitely didn’t happen with me. I’m extremely happy and so is Dianne.”
