Adam Thomas’ six-year-old son raised £13,000 for charity after Captain Sir Tom Moore inspired him to walk 10k
PROUD dad Adam Thomas has revealed his six-year-old son raised £13,000 for charity after Captain Sir Tom Moore inspired him to walk 10k.
The former Emmerdale actor's little boy Teddy came up with the selfless idea all on his own after dressing up as Captain Tom for History Day at school.
Captain Tom won the hearts of the nation at the height of the coronavirus pandemic with his bid to raise money for NHS staff before his 100th birthday on April 30
Inspired by his efforts, Teddy told his parents Adam and Caroline he wanted to raise £100 for those affected by Covid-19.
"I know he’s our son but what a special little boy," said Adam after Teddy smashed his fundraising target.
"Raised over £13k at the weekend and back to school today like nothing ever happened.
"Thanks again to everyone who has supported and donated! And thanks again to sir captain Tom Moore for inspiring us and so many others. I hope he did you proud."
On Saturday Teddy did Sir Captain Tom's famous ‘100 laps’ of his family's garden.
Initially the youngster was only hoping to raise £100 - but suddenly donations began flooding in.
After completing the walk, Adam said: "One proud father today!
"It wasn’t easy that but he walked over 10k, what a special little boy!
"But more importantly thank you to you guys aswell !! What a day!!
