Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt admits it’s a struggle to lose weight
The TV star wants to shape up but keeps giving in to her favourite takeaway
SCARLETT Moffatt has shown her determination to get into shape after doctors classed her as obese, but like all of us, she still has that one guilty food pleasure.
The Gogglebox star has confided that, although she’s been hitting the gym regularly, she still eats up to two kebabs a week.
Scarlett, 25, told magazine: “Doner kebab meat. Truthfully, I have it maybe once or twice a week.
“But with garlic mayo and stuff it’s probably a week’s worth of calories.”
It seems Scarlett is being a tad hard on herself as the benefits of her new active lifestyle can already be seen.
The Newcastle star explained: “I’ve just started exercising quite a bit actually. I’d say I do HIT [High Intensity Training] about three times a week.
“My boyfriend [Luke Crodden] is super-fit so it’s good having him on side because he’s quite motivated.
“I’ve got no excuse now!”
Scarlett who is currently a size 16, was once a tiny size 6 thanks to a rigorous training schedule as a ballroom dancer.
But as that stopped when she went the uni, the weight gradually piled on.
Scarlett’s plans to get into shape were kick-started by a visit to the doctor.
She said: “When I went to the doctor’s I was classed as – it’s really embarrassing, this – obese.
“They had to test me for diabetes, so that was pretty scary.
“They told us that if I didn’t start to eat healthy and look after myself that basically I was on the route to getting type 2 diabetes.
“As soon as it was [about] health, I was like, no, I’ll get healthier.”
The straight-talking character, who each week gives Channel 4 audiences a giggle with her endless quips, previously admitted she loved to eat the wrong foods – listing chips, cakes and cocktails as some of her vices.
The Sun Online also revealed that Scarlett has signed up to front an upcoming fitness DVD.
The lucrative new deal is with the same company that made Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby’s 3 Minute Bum Blitz and former Towie star Lauren Goodger’s OMG! Workout.
