Sheridan Smith working on tell-all autobiography in which she vows to open up about her career highs & personal lows
SHERIDAN Smith has appeared on stage and screen – now she’s coming to our bookshelves, too.
The actress is currently working on a tell-all autobiography, in which she has vowed to open up about her career highs and deeply personal low points.
There is plenty to write about, including her high-profile relationship with James Corden, her struggles with depression and anxiety while appearing in the West End show Funny Girl and starting a family in May with her fiancé Jamie Horn.
Sheridan said: “Been asked for years but never felt right — until now.”
The star, who has been in TV shows including Cilla, The Moorside and Gavin & Stacey, is believed to have been spurred on to write her autobiography while working on her ITV documentary, which aired in September.
A source said: “Sheridan finally feels like she can open up about everything she’s gone through after taking some time for herself while pregnant.
“It has made her look differently at her life and the book will see her bare all about some of the more painful moments of her life, which will shock fans.
“She has been working with a professional writer to make it happen and hopes it will be an inspiring read for her followers.”
Currently, Sheridan is set to play mum Kathy in ITV drama No Return, which will see a family’s torment as their son is accused of a serious crime on holiday in Turkey.
Danny Brocklehurst, who wrote The Stranger, is penning the four-parter.
Last night a spokesperson said: “Sheridan has long been asked to put pen to paper to tell her incredible story in her own words.
“She is currently working on something and hopes to be able to share more news soon.”
I have no doubt it will be a page-turner.
VACCINE MEGS SU SO HAPPY
SUSANNA Reid is thrilled at the news of a working Covid-19 vaccine as she does her best impression of Meg Ryan.
The Good Morning Britain host re-enacted the famous fake orgasm scene from the film When Harry Met Sally, including saying “yes, yes, yes”.
She then added: “This is Pfizer – the company behind the vaccine which also created Viagra.
"So you know, it all comes together.”
The link caused Susanna and co-presenter Piers Morgan to descend into fits of giggles as Dr Hilary Jones slowly turned pink with embarrassment at their antics.
Parky dubs Piers the interview king
PIERS Morgan certainly isn’t in need of an ego boost, but being named TV’s ultimate interviewer by Sir Michael Parkinson is bound to be music to his ears.
Parky went so far as to call Piers a national hero for taking politicians to task during Covid – a job he admitted is far more difficult than sitting down with film stars.
The chat show legend said: “God knows we need someone as tough as him nowadays.
“My job was to make it as entertaining as possible.
“With Piers, he’s got to challenge people and have enough knowledge to sensibly dispute something.
“He’s very necessary and the politicians who don’t go on his programme should be ashamed.
“He does brilliantly well and thank God he does . . . long may he reign.”
Sir Michael was inspired to write new bestseller Like Father, Like Son about his late dad after Piers “unlocked the grief” over his death when he was on the GMB host’s other ITV series, Life Stories.
He said: “I felt quite confidently that nobody could reach it and he did.
“From that point of view I’ve got a lot to thank Piers for.
“He’s already sent me a text saying I owe him a huge lunch. It’ll be a wet lunch too.”

Paul won’t beat about the bush
PAUL O’Grady’s travel series Great British Escapes is riddled with innuendo and sexual references as he showcases his home county of Kent.
During the half-hour ITV programme tonight, he visits a bird of prey sanctuary, which leads him to reminisce about owning two barn owls which ended up breeding, leaving him with six.
He said: “It was like I was running an owl orgy.”
And on a trip to Hever Castle, the historic home of Anne Boleyn, Paul starts trimming hedges, commenting: “Like those Tudors, there is nothing I like more than a clipped bush.”
I’m sure there’s more to Kent than double-entendres.
Joe praises NHS over son’s care
THE nation’s PE teacher Joe Wicks has told of his admiration for the NHS – as he prepares to do a special 24-hour workout for Children in Need.
Joe experienced NHS care first hand when son Marley was born three weeks early last December.
He said: “Marley was premature and spent ten days in hospital, so seeing the nurses be so lovely and so kind made me realise how amazing the service is, how lucky we are and how we need to appreciate it.
“There are doctors and nurses from the Philippines, from Sri Lanka, from Ireland and parts of Africa.
