I’m A Celebrity’s AJ Pritchard makes sly dig at Strictly Come Dancing saying ‘I’m joining a better show’
I'M A Celebrity star AJ Pritchard has made a sly dig at Strictly Come Dancing by claiming he's joined a "better show".
The ex-Strictly pro dancer was officially announced by ITV last night and will appear in Wales's Gwrych Castle on Sunday night.
Ahead of the show, he has told how he is relishing the challenge.
He said: "Doing I'm A Celebrity is a childhood dream come true. I was so excited to watch the return of Strictly this Autumn but now I am going to be on an even better show! I can't wait!
"People see me on Strictly with fake tan and sparkles but nobody knows me. It will be nice for people to see me and get to know who I am. I am unbelievably competitive and whatever the challenge is, I will go for it."
The eager star won't shy away from the terrifying Bushtucker Trials, telling ITV he'll be going for a full 10 stars each time.
He continued: "I will give everything 110 per cent. I really appreciate life and I never take anything for granted. I will be trying to come back with all the stars every single time and if I don't, I think I will be disappointed."
And his former Strictly co-stars will be tuning in to see how he fares.
"I think my friends from Strictly like Neil Jones and Janette Manrara are going to watch, which is really nice," he said.
The Sun has revealed show bosses have secretly signed former professional footballer turned musician Chelcee Grimes for this year’s series.
Producers agreed with the ex-Liverpool and Everton star to appear in the ITV show, being filmed in Wales this year.

The Sun understands that Match of the Day spin-off host Chelcee, 28, has spent two weeks isolating near Abergele ahead of a potential stint in Gwrych Castle.
Bisexual Chelcee - who used to date Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson - has been warned to be ready to enter the show in case any of the line-up has to drop out because of coronavirus.
It comes after The Sun revealed how former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard had tested positive for Covid-19, less than a week of heading into the legendary show.
Insiders say he tested positive for the virus early in his enforced two week isolation ahead of the show starting on Sunday, November 15.
