Jesy appeared alongside bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards on the semi-final of The Search on Friday evening, which was pre-recorded last Saturday.

The episode saw the girls perform their recent single Holiday as well as their 2016 hit Touch.

The group were first put together on The X Factor in 2011 and have since scored 16 Top Ten hits including four No1 singles.

Last September, Jesy won praise for her emotional BBC documentary Odd One Out in which she opened up about the impact which trolling had on her.

Since then she says she has started to embrace herself but told The Sun in March how she still finds it hard to feel confident.

She explained: “I will never, ever sit here and say, ‘Oh my God, I’m so confident now, I love myself’, because I don’t.

“It’s just something that I’m working on and I’m accepting myself for who I am.

“I know I’ll never, ever be the same and feel the same about myself.

“But I think I’m slowly starting to get myself to a point where I’m just accepting it for what it is and learning to get over certain things that I couldn’t before.”
