How the stars marked Father’s Day from handmade cards for Elton John to throwback pic for Ruth Langsford
The celebs paid tribute to their own dads and some got treated themselves
It’s the one day of the year which is all about dad.
All around the world children have spent the day paying tribute to their fathers in one way or another – even the celebs.
And keen to show off the cards they have received, as well as messages to their own dads, the stars have taken to social media in their droves.
Kicking things off was Elton John who shared a picture of a card he had received from his sons Zachary and Elijah.
Alongside the image, the singer wrote: “One of the happiest moments of my life. Waking up on Father's Day to this drawing of David and me from our beautiful sons. @davidfurnish #FathersDay #ShareTheLove.”
Spice Girl Geri Horner shared a picture of her husband Christian posing up with her daughter Bluebell, from a different relationship, which she simply captioned: “Happy Father’s Day.”
Frankie Bridge paid tribute to her husband Wayne with a pic of him and their two sons, writing: “We love you daddy! Happy Fathers Day!!!”
Her The Saturday’s bandmate Rochelle Humes followed suit sharing a picture of herself embracing Marvin and their daughter Alaia-Mai.
She accompanied it with a touching message: “Happy Fathers day to this amazing man. The best dad our little one could ever ask for. You look after us both so well and we love you to the moon and back... @marvinhumes.”
Their other bandmate Una’s husband shared his own Father’s Day image as part of Dove Men’s latest campaign ‘Men don’t but Dad’s do’
Sharing a shot of him teaching Aoife how to Ice skate, he wrote: “Bambi on ice! Losing my cool for an ice-skating session with Aoife Belle...Well worth it! #fatherscare”
Jeff Brazier also joined in with the hashtag, sharing a picture of himself baking with his son Fred – from his relationship with the late Jade Goody.
“Baking is far from my strongest point but Fred is always there to help! #FathersDay @DoveMen #FathersCare #,” he wrote.
Meanwhile former Towie star Cara Kilbey shared a picture of her boyfriend Daniel Harris and baby Penelope Blu – who looked like they were recreating the famous Athena poster Man and Baby.
She wrote: “Happy 1st Fathers Day to My Handsome Boyfriend. Me and Penelope Blu love you with all our hearts.”
Her best mate Billi Mucklow also shared a series of pictures of her partner Andy Carroll – showing the footy star playing with their baby boy Arlo.
TV presenter Ruth Lansgford shared an amazing throwback picture of herself and her late father.
Alongside it she wrote: “Happy Father's Day all you lovely Dads out there.....miss mine every day.
“Hope you all get thoroughly spoiled! #fathersday #love .”
