Adam Thomas reveals terrifying moment huge storm hit celebs as they filmed ITV’s Don’t Rock The Boat
ADAM Thomas has revealed the moment he bravely battled through a terrifying thunderstorm during his 370-mile row for ITV's Don't Rock The Boat.
The former Emmerdale actor refused to give up as he pushed through the pain of having his hands "torn to bits with blisters".
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the launch of range, Adam lifted the lid on his gruelling experience as one of 12 celebrities rowing from Cornwall to Scotland in the ultimate reality TV challenge.
He said: "After a week of training everyone wanted to walk because it was so difficult.
"We were rowing constantly for 36-hour rows - two hours on and two hours off. You're literally not allowed to stop rowing.
"My hands were torn to bits with blisters and we came into some tough situations especially due to the weather. We hit some horrific storms.
"I don't want to give too much away, but it was an experience I will never forget. I'm glad I stuck it out.
"I had an amazing time and met some beautiful people from all walks of life.
"And I had a great team with me, we were all looking after each other. We were all in the same boat, literally."
ITV's latest reality show Don't Rock The Boat debuts on Monday - but Adam can't bring himself to watch a sneak peek.
"I got sent a preview, but I'm too nervous to watch it," says Adam, who opened star-studded restaurant after leaving Emmerdale.
"I hate watching myself on screen, but it's going to be amazing. ITV are really behind it."
Now he's back on dry land, the 32-year-old has joined forces with his twin brother Scott to launch the range.
It includes Disney clothing, bedding, nightwear and toys.
The twins are making pyjamas sexy again as they posed in the Marvel-branded comfy clothes at a special event today.
Fans fell in love with the pair's relationship on-screen this year after they starred in Absolutely India: Mancs In Mumbai alongside older brother Ryan Thomas and their dad, Dougie James.
The emotional series showed the Thomas brothers explore their family history - and build bridges with their dad who walked out on them in childhood.
Ex-Coronation Street star Ryan broke down in tears as he confronted Dougie over the past - but now their relationship has never been better.
“Just getting to see our dad in that light was amazing," added Adam.
"He doesn’t normally open up, but I think he did on that trip and we got to see him in a different light and it brought us all closer together.”
Scott, 32, said: “It was like therapy. It helped clear the air and we are all in a really good place. Those memories are really special to have.”
Love Island 2016 star Scott has been on a special journey himself this year as he vowed to go sober for 2020 and become the "best version of himself".
Now he says he's "overcome his demons" and feels "unstoppable".
Helping others to transform their body and achieve their weight loss goals, Scott launched with his childhood friend Eden Thomas.
Reflecting on the past ten months, The Social PR director Scott said: "My mindset has completely changed.
"No matter how tough things get, because I'm on my game all the time it's only ever going to go one way. I won't give up. I feel unstoppable.
"I've overcome my demons. It is an amazing mindset to have."
He's now been inspired to get into the Christmas spirit after spending the day at George House Celebrating Disney.
