CHERYL and her toyboy boyfriend Liam Payne are trying for a baby.
The Sun on Sunday can reveal the loved-up pair have told friends they want to start a family — despite being together for just eight months.
One Direction star Liam, 22, has taken time off work since the band split to concentrate on his personal life and is besotted with Cheryl, 32.
And the former X Factor judge believes she can soon commit fully to Liam when her divorce to French playboy Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, 35, becomes official.
Last night a member of Liam’s inner circle revealed: “It’s very serious now between Cheryl and Liam and they have been talking among close friends about starting a family.
“Cheryl is happier than she’s been since the good days of her marriage to Ashley Cole.
“She’s content and while they’re in the honeymoon period, this feels like a connection for the future.”
After being hit by jibes about her shrinking figure, Cheryl has put weight back on since being with Liam and looks much healthier.

The strength of their relationship was clear when Cheryl attended the wedding of Liam’s sister Ruth last weekend in Wolverhampton.
Trying not to upstage the bride, she chose a loose-fitting silk blend maxi dress to conceal her figure.
She recently said of her time with Liam: “I’ve been going to a few concerts, playing on the Xbox and eating cheeseburgers.”
One of Liam’s pals said: “He has eight guitars and has barely picked one up since being with Cheryl.
“He is not writing music and he’s not out partying — he’s cooking for her and helping with her divorce details.”
A source close to Cheryl said: “Her dream is to become a mum.
“But she also wants to get her divorce to JB out the way and be able to have a complete fresh start.”
X Factor boss Simon Cowell, 56, has said Cheryl and Liam are “like two little chipmunks madly in love”.
Jean-Bernard agrees to tell-all gag
CHERYL has stopped Jean-Bernard from discussing their marriage.
Her lawyers met him and his team for a secret summit in central London ten days ago.
A judge authorised an injunction and JB agreed to it, said a source.
They added: “If he speaks or gives interviews he will be in big trouble.”
His tell-all book, revealed by The Sun on Sunday, is now on ice.
