Kasabian boot Tom Meighan out of their lucrative companies after he was sacked for assaulting girlfriend
TOM Meighan left Kasabian back in July when he admitted attacking his former fiancée – and now there’s definitely no way back.
His ex-bandmates are ensuring he won’t continue to profit from the band, by booting him out of their lucrative companies.
It means Tom, who was the group’s frontman for two decades, will no longer make money from ticket or merchandise sales.
Documents filed to Companies House — under the band’s firms Poltergeist Touring Limited Liability Partnership and Silver Bullet Merchandise Limited Liability Partnership — reveal Tom has now been formally removed from the businesses.
It comes after the singer was spared prison following the release of CCTV showed him attacking partner Vikki Ager. He then quit the band by mutual consent.
It now comprises guitarist Serge Pizzorno, drummer Ian Matthews and bassist Chris Edwards.
The band’s accounts showed their two businesses banked nearly £400,000 in 2019 — and one financial expert said: “Axing Tom from the companies shows the split is decisive. There is no way back.
“After he left the band, it was natural that his involvement in the touring companies could not continue.”
Tom immediately checked into rehab to get help for his alcohol addiction following the attack, which The Sun revealed.
He was given an 18-month community order and told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also required to complete five days of rehabilitation and ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 in prosecution costs.
After sentencing, the band issued a statement saying: “As soon as we found out about the charges against Tom, we as a band made the decision we could no longer work with him.”
Earlier this month, he sent a message to those fans who had stood by him after his departure, saying: “Thanks for all the love. TM x”
He then released an Instagram snap of him on stage, saying: “The sun always shines on stage . . . TM.”
Five of Kasabian’s six albums have hit No1 and the band were planning a seventh with Tom before he was forced out.
They will struggle to repeat that form.
Rita all about it
RITA Ora must be out to make headlines in these newspaper-print stilettos.
The pop star teamed the tie-up heels with an ice-white blazer as she promoted a new campaign in conjunction with ShoeDazzle.
The singer worked with the footwear firm for her own collection and has also helped to create a new initiative which aims to help women struggling to get ahead in the arts.
The Women Of The Future fund is offering three women a chance to get a share of more than £80,000 which they can use to help fund their fledgling careers.
Entries for the grant close this Saturday with Rita personally choosing the three lucky women who will get the opportunity of a lifetime.
Now that is something to talk about.

Scherz shore is hot
IT’S the last of the summer shine for Nicole Scherzinger after she waved goodbye to the sun.
I’ll have to keep this picture in my memory for as long as possible as the nights get longer and the days shorter.
The Pussycat Dolls singer posted the snap of herself in a red striped bikini by the sea.
She wrote: “Goodbye summer, hello fall.”
Nicole poked fun at herself earlier in a video showing her dancing to explicit song WAP. Halfway through she pretended to feel her back crack and the former X Factor judge stopped and mouthed: “I’m not 18 any more.”
Well, she could have fooled me.
Lads attract shark
HE’S got a reputation as one of the nicest blokes in music and Ed Sheeran lived up to that during a studio session with rising star Amy Shark.
The Aussie singer, rated by Rebel Wilson, spent time at Ed’s Suffolk recording studio earlier this year.
In an exclusive interview, Amy explained: “The first five minutes after he walked into the room I was like, ‘Oh my God – there he is standing in front of me, this little ginger man.’
“It was hard to play it cool for a second but then something just happens and you get into work mode.
"Within 15 minutes we were talking like we’d been friends for ages. He is just a pro like that.”
Amy teamed up with another music star for her new single C’Mon, which came out on Monday – this time it was Blink-182’s Travis Barker.
She revealed: “I had a message from Travis about two and a half years ago on Twitter when I released the first record. He said to me, ‘I love the music. If you ever want to work together, let’s do it.’
“I worship Blink-182 so I couldn’t screw up the opportunity. I had to be sure it was the right song and right time. Everything needed to align before I texted Travis.
“I sent him the song and within two hours he replied that he loved it.
“The next thing we’re working on the song together, it was awesome.”
