Tom Odell’s secret model girlfriend revealed, and the pair are ‘besotted’ with each other
Singer songwriter's pretty new girl Sydney Lima has previously been linked to two other famous rock stars
TOM ODELL may have lost the chart tussle with RICK ASTLEY but thankfully he’s got someone to comfort him.
I can reveal the singer-songwriter is secretly dating pretty model SYDNEY LIMA.
The pair have been loved-up for more than a year but kept their romance under the radar — until now.
My source revealed: “Tom is besotted with Sydney. He’s been showing her off to his nearest and dearest.
“They’re not the type to be parading around on red carpets and would rather be down the pub having a roast.
“Sydney’s as smitten. She’s been supporting the new album and is his biggest cheerleader.
“She’ll be gutted with him missing out on his second No1 album.”
Tom is her third musician boyfriend. She was with THE KOOKS frontman LUKE PRITCHARD until last year and has links to THE LIBERTINES rocker PETE DOHERTY.
In 2013, Tom got close to TAYLOR SWIFT but was put off by her fame.
It’s not hard to see why he is keen on the stunning KATE MOSS-lookalike Sydney.
The beauty has been snapped up by Storm, the same modelling agency that discovered Mossy.
So ex Pete’s not the only connection they share. But Sydney’s made a step up with Tom.
Rick in at No1 again
RICK ASTLEY has rid that one-hit wonder tag once and for all.
With the help of Bizarre, which he guest-edited yesterday, the Eighties star has landed his first No1 since 1987.
Earlier this week, TOM ODELL’s new album Wrong Crowd was ahead of Rick’s record 50 by just 14 copies.
But with The Sun’s support, Rick clawed it back and trounced Tom by almost 4,000 sales.
I presented Rick with his Official Number 1 Album award, on behalf of the Official Charts Company, yesterday at his record label BMG’s headquarters in central London.
He said: “It probably was Bizarre which pushed it over.
“It has been a very, very, very long time since this happened. It is absolutely amazing.”
That was 29 years ago, thanks to his classic hit Never Gonna Give You Up and accompanying debut album Whenever You Need Somebody.
And one music icon in particular is delighted for Rick.
He revealed: “ELTON JOHN called me now to celebrate. He said, ‘Just make sure you enjoy it’.
“It was a nice moment to get that congratulations.”
Rick always said he was never going to let us down. He stuck to his word.
Viola Beach salute
UNHEARD music from VIOLA BEACH is being released to commemorate the lives of the band who died in a car crash in February.
A debut album of nine tracks has been compiled by the families of KRIS LEONARD, RIVER REEVES, TOMAS LOWE and JACK DAKIN to leave a legacy the boys would have wanted.
It will be released on July 29 through the band’s own Fuller Beans Records label and include Swings & Waterslides, which reached No11 following the incident in Sweden.
A statement from the band’s families said: “The best way to celebrate our sons’ lives is to release an album. This is their legacy.
“The boys would want the world to listen to the music they poured everything into.”
The band will be honoured next week too, after I revealed COLDPLAY will perform a cover of one of their songs as they close Glastonbury.
Gary takes Shine to BBC
JUST four months after I revealed that GARY BARLOW had signed a mega Saturday night TV deal with the BBC the channel has confirmed he will front a new talent show with the working title Let It Shine.
The series, which is replacing The Voice, will see Gary putting together the cast of a new TAKE THAT stage show called The Band, created with fellow members HOWARD DONALD and MARK OWEN.
And the singer has pulled off a major coup by signing up Great British Bake Off presenter MEL GIEDROYC and telly favourite GRAHAM NORTON as co-hosts.
Gary will also be joined by three mentors each week. He said of the original TT line-up: “The secret to our success was that each of us brought something different to the group and that the five of us had real chemistry.
“Now with Let It Shine we’re looking for people from all walks of life to form another unique group who can recreate that magic.”
Gary’s multi-million pound series is set to compete with arch-rival SIMON COWELL’s X Factor, on which Gary was a judge from 2011 to 2013.
Roll on the ratings battle.
Ricky as Brent as ever
DAVID BRENT is back and as cringe-making as ever in a trailer for RICKY GERVAIS’ upcoming movie Life On The Road.
He is now a travelling salesman – and in a band – for The Office spin-off.
There have been negative mutterings about the film – out next month – but the trailer shows it keeps up the sitcom’s high standards.
In a movie teaser Brent says in a sales pitch: “It can be as stiff as you want and it won’t damage your rug. That’s what I told her.”
He’s not lost his charm.
Amber alert
THE strain of AMBER HEARD’s legal battle with JOHNNY DEPP appears to be taking its toll.
The actress appeared in public on Thursday as reports emerged the stress of the divorce had led her to drop 20lbs.
Sources said a fitting for film Justice League had to be ditched as she’s “too skinny”.
The sooner this saga is resolved the better.
Kate's loud and proud
I HOPE they handed out earplugs when KATE MOSS took to the mic to belt out TAMMY WYNETTE’s Stand By Your Man.
Her duet with THE PRETENDERS star CHRISSIE HYNDE, was at least for a good cause – a charity night at London jazz club Ronnie Scott’s.
Her man COUNT NIKOLAI VON BISMARCK was in the audience and will have enjoyed her singing: “Stand by your man, show the world you love him.”
They’re back on after she threatened to split from him last month.
NOEL GALLAGHER played OASIS hit Wonderwall at the bash before hitting A-list nightspot the Chiltern Firehouse and finally leaving at 4am in high spirits.
Not like him.
