Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure and Martin Compston scream in terror on tonight’s Celebrity Gogglebox

LINE Of Duty's Vicky McClure and Martin Compston may play tough cops on the show, but have proven they're anything but when it comes to horror movies.

Along with costar Adrian Dunbar, Martin and Vicky appear on Celebrity Gogglebox in the Stand Up To Cancer special.

The trio are currently the hit crime drama's sixth season in Belfast and took some time off their busy schedule to do Celebrity Gogglebox.

In tonight's episode, Martin and Vicky get cosy in a hoodie tracksuit set, while Adrian choses jeans, a blue jumper and red sneakers as his outfit of choice for watching some telly.

But when it comes to Wes Craven's 1997 horror classic, Scream, Vicky is anything but relaxed.

A scary moment in the cult classic sees her scream in horror, looking away from the TV as she holds her hands up to her face.

Her reaction sends Martin into hysterics and she ends up falling over on the couch laughing along with him.

An unmoved Adrian, looks calmly over at the pair and can't understand what all the fuss is about.

Gasping for air between laughs Vicky asks him, "did that not make you jump".

He sternly replies, "no" to which Vicky says, "not even a tiny bit".

But then she turns to Martin to ask the same thing and fibs his way through it.

"No," he lies, but Vicky catches him out and then they start laughing again before he admits, "yeah it did".

The trio love being apart of Celebrity Gogglebox this year with Adrian who plays Supt Ted Hastings, saying: "It’s an honour to be part of the esteemed Gogglebox line-up."

Vicky who plays Det Insp Kate Fleming admitted she was "really chuffed" to be involved.

Martin who plays DS Steve Arnott reinforced how much fun they had: “We had such a laugh filming Gogglebox together and we’re delighted to be able to play a small part in the Stand Up To Cancer campaign."

While the team are filming the sixth season, Line of Duty's creator Jed Mercurio has broken his silence on BBC axe rumours - admitting he 'already knows how the show will end'.

He addressed speculation over whether the show would move to another network or streaming service if it was axed by the BBC, Jed said: "I don't know if [it'd go to Netflix] if it was dropped.

"I think in the UK there's not really much of a tradition of going from channel to channel."

He added during a Royal Television Society's 'In Conversation With' discussion:"It's quite rare for something to be dropped and then picked up by another channel. I think the chances are quite slim.

"If Line of Duty got dropped by the BBC, I don't think it would automatically get picked up by anyone else."

While there are no plans for the series to be brought to an end by the BBC any time soon, Jed does know how he will wrap everything up when the time does come.

He said: "Yes, I do know how it will end. As an overview yes, but in terms of detail no.

“We would figure out the number of episodes based on the detail. I am in this very fortunate position where I can do other things and then come back to 'Line Of Duty'."
