Line of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar, Martin Compston & Vicky McClure to star on Celebrity Gogglebox
WE’RE used to seeing them interrogate bent coppers on Line Of Duty – now the main characters will be scrutinising this week’s telly on Celebrity Gogglebox.
Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Martin Compston will be sharing a sofa on Friday night, along with a host of other stars taking part to raise cash for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
Adrian, who plays Supt Ted Hastings, said: “It’s an honour to be part of the esteemed Gogglebox line-up.”
Martin, better known as Det Sgt Steve Arnott, agreed: “We had such a laugh filming Gogglebox.”
Vicky, who plays Det Insp Kate Fleming, added: “I am really chuffed to be asked.”
The hit BBC1 drama is often one of the shows discussed on Gogglebox.
Seven million viewers tuned in to the final episode of the last series — and there’s huge anticipation over the sixth season, set to air next year.
When it returns, they should bring the trio back onto Gogglebox to review themselves.

Norton: My show's just yakkety yak
GRAHAM Norton gets paid at least £2million to talk to people on his Radio 2 and BBC1 shows – so it’s a surprise to hear when his guests speak he glazes over “all the time”.
He even admitted that when he does listen to the superstars on his sofa, he’s often bored.
Graham said: “You zone back in and they’re still talking and you think: ‘I wonder if I’ve missed anything?’ But, you probably haven’t.
“That’s the trick. It’s just yakkety yak. If I’m on it, I’m listening. I’m still bored.”
He also admitted that during an interview with Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern he got her name wrong, calling her Elizabeth Montgomery – the star of vintage US sitcom Bewitched who died 25 years ago.
He said: “The first time I said her name, a funny look went across her face, and bless her, this makes me like her so much, she didn’t say anything.
“She let me call her the wrong name.”
Good to see our licence fee is being well spent.
ITV has commissioned a drama about the Yorkshire Ripper from New Pictures.
The hit production team delivered two of the biggest true crime dramas of 2020 – White House Farm, about killer Jeremy Bamber, and Des, about murderer Dennis Nilsen, portrayed by David Tennant.
Dawn revs up for Ru’s Drag Race
VICAR Of Dibley star Dawn French will be a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK after hinting she would a year ago.
The comedian is a big fan of the show and shared her love for the head judge on Twitter claiming it would be “one fine day” if she joined the panel.
On The Table Manners podcast, she said: “I’m going to be one of the guest judges, they did originally ask me if I would be a full-time judge but I couldn’t because I don’t live in London.
“I’m going to be on in a few weeks as they had to stop everything on the British show but they are now restarting.”
But sadly, Dawn can’t get close to her fellow judges.
She added: “I think there’s going to be a Perspex between each judge.
“That’s a shame because I really do want to touch Ru and Michelle Visage.”
IMELDA Staunton is feeling the pressure as she prepares to follow Claire Foy and Olivia Colman as the Queen in Netflix’s The Crown.
She told This Morning: “I don’t start filming until July. I’m working on it now – listening to and watching her and I’m following two extraordinary actresses.”
Pete gets to grips with fight
WHEN you think of wrestling, Pete Wicks isn’t the first person that would come to mind.
But the Towie regular hopes to become as famous as The Rock – and ironically plans to call himself The Pebble.
Pete, who will fight James Lock next Thursday for a tequila campaign, said the duo were fast learners, adding: “I’m not saying that you know I’m the new Rock but I could be. Instead of The Rock you can call me The Pebble.”

Pete added that his tattoos help cover up the bruises he has accumulated from being thrown around the ring.

He added: “It’s quite painful. I think most people consider wrestling to be a bit fake but it’s really not.”
Unlike Towie . . .
