Kirstie Alley slammed by Patricia Arquette, Judd Apatow and other celebrities after publicly supporting Donald Trump
KIRSTIE Alley was slammed by celebrities like Judd Apatow and Patricia Arquette after the Cheers actress publicly supported President Donald Trump.
It all kicked off after Kirstie took to to let her followers and everyone else know her stance on the upcoming election.
She wrote: “I’m voting for @realDonaldTrump because he’s NOT a politician. I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason.
“He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly."
Many fans fired back at the 69-year-old soon after, however, some celebrities also let Kirstie know how her tweet made them feel.
Comedy writer and director Judd decided to reference actress Shelley Long, who played Diane Chambers on Cheers for five seasons before leaving the show and being replaced by Kirstie.
Judd wrote: “[sic] Shelly Long was way funnier than you."
Fellow actress Patricia also chimed in with: “Well my vote for Biden canceled yours out. I have done my civic duty of the day.”
The responses got harsher as Natasha Rothwell comedian responded: “Kirstie Alley’s tweet screamed ‘I can’t read! I don’t watch the news! Black Lives Don’t Matter! My body, your choice! and Pussies wear masks! And sexuality is a preference!'
“But all I can think about is how 87% of the people on here will have to google who she is.”
The Look Who's Talking star would later tweet: "Don’t think I’ve ever seen so much name-calling in my life. Definitely not on my site here anyway.
"I guess I’m not allowed to have a viewpoint without being called a really nasty names by what I’m going to suppose are really nasty people."
She would then write: "Stick to your guns. Not always easy to be under fire but always easier than going against your own integrity.
"JUST REMEMBER: if it takes thousands to try & bring u down, you must be one powerful Mfer Love wins."
