PIERS Morgan and Susanna Reid leaned in for a kiss on Good Morning Britain today - but all was not as it seemed.
Piers and Susanna were discussing a tip from Jake Wood, who plays Max on EastEnders, about how actors kiss on screen while sticking to social distancing rules.
He said instead of locking lips with their colleagues, actors are being asked to bring their real other halves to work to kiss them in the steamy scenes.
Piers, 55, revealed the trick was to wear a wig so that viewers wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
But the presenter and his co-host - who are filmed on separate cameras with the screens spliced together to make it seem like they are sitting side by side - said EastEnders should use the same trick to allow actors to kiss.
Demonstrating how it would work, the pair went in for a kiss multiple times but couldn't quite reach other and viewers saw their faces blending together.
Piers remarked: "It is amazing what you can do, we are more than two metres apart!"
Last month Mitch and Karen's "kiss" on the soap was ridiculed by some, who laughed at how "unrealistic" the smooch looked.
Last week Susanna was accused of "fondling Piers' bum" after viewers got confused by their split screen.
Susanna, 49, couldn't help but laugh when cheeky Piers read out a tweet from a viewer saying it looked like she had reached out and grabbed him beneath their desk.

Giggling Piers told viewers: "Someone's just (tweeted in) and said, 'Piers, your split screen effect occasionally makes Susanna appear to be fondling your bottom'."
Game for a laugh, Susanna extended her arm in Piers' direction and looked the other way as if she was about to tickle her co-host.
Piers let out an "oof!" and erupted into hysterics as newsreader Ranvir Singh, who was sitting to Piers' right, could be heard saying disapprovingly: "Oh for God's sake. You two!"
