Katie Price had secret chats on Twitter with Oscar Pistorius during his original trial

Convicted killer got in touch with HER after she wrote about him in Now magazine column

KATIE Price has confessed to maintaining an unlikely communication with convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius.

During a discussion on Loose Women about how women fall in love with killers back in May, Katie made the shock announcement that she at one point wrote to the infamous athlete.

The mum-of five said it was her obsession with serial killers that eventually led to her connecting with Pistorius- whose trial for the murder of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp ended today.

Her co-presenters were left stunned as she announced: “It would be my absolute dream job to go into a prison and get in the minds of serial killers. I don't know what my fascination is."

"I mentioned him in a column I did for a magazine and it started from there. He was thanking me and I thought 'Oh is this really him?'

"He had a verified tick and it was definitely him. I wasn't being biased or anything at the time. I was just saying let the courts decide.”

Eventually the star decided to call off their communication when the public eye on his murder trial became too much of a worry for Katie.

She said: "When all the media stuff was going on and before the verdict and it got to a point where I thought I can't message him and I don't want to message because I don't want to cross that barrier of dialogue.”

Pistorius, 29, is due to be sentenced for the murder of Reeva in July this year after a three-day trial cemented the verdict.

He was previously convicted of the lesser term “culpable homicide” when he confessed shot and killed his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day 2013, but argued he thought she was an intruder.

The verdict was then overturned earlier this year into a straight murder conviction, and today marked the end of the three day trial to confirm this conviction shall remain.

The double-amputee was previously known as the first Olympic athlete to compete in both the Paralympic and standard Olympic Games, and was nicknamed The Blade Runner.
