Fan favourite Matt Lucas set to return to Doctor Who for new series
Funnyman set to reprise his role as Nardole for the tenth series of sci-fi show due to air early next year
HE won rave reviews when he appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas special last year.
And now viewers will get to see even more of funnyman MATT LUCAS because he has signed up for the sci-fi show’s tenth series.
He will reprise his role as robot bodyguard Nardole for the opening episode of the new run, which is due to air early next year following another Christmas special.
Filming for the series will start next week in Cardiff after the cast’s first script read-through yesterday.
It has also been revealed that the lead character in new Doctor Who spin-off show Class will be gay.
Author and screenwriter of the upcoming BBC3 series, Patrick Ness, tweeted: “Been asked if Class will have LGBT representation in it.
“Will a lead character with a boyfriend who he kisses & sleeps with & loves do?”
I hope more shows will follow their lead.
Red Hot Musical
FRESH from hosting the Tony Awards, JAMES CORDEN was back to his day job on The Late, Late Show on Monday.
He was joined by rockers RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS for his Carpool Karaoke segment.
Frontman ANTHONY KIEDIS, bassist FLEA and James stripped off to sing their hits including Under the Bridge and Californication, as well as songs from Oliver Twist.
James said: “I never thought that we’d finish a Red Hot Chili Peppers song then go right into the musical of Oliver!”
If ever there was a sentence that sums up James’ unconventional life, that is it.
Wannabe cue-jumper
THE X Factor auditions in Manchester could not have been more different to those in Leicester.
As I revealed yesterday, the judges were blown away by singing Wag Rebecca Guthrie in the Midlands. But in Manchester one overly keen contestant had them cowering behind their desks.
The wannabe was fed up with waiting and brought filming to a standstill as she swept past stunned crew, security and producers and into the audition room.
And despite being restrained by SIMON COWELL’s security guard, he allowed the queue-jumper to perform there and then.
After hearing hundreds of pitchy voices I’m sure this security breach added some excitement to the day for Simon and fellow judges, SHARON OSBOURNE, LOUIS WALSH and NICOLE SCHERZINGER.
