MADONNA is under fire after posting a throwback image of herself and Britney Spears kissing at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, to show her support for victims of the Orlando massacre.
The controversial picture has the words "Gay or Straight, no hate" emblazoned across it, with the Queen of Pop adding the caption, "Stop Hate. Stop Violence. #revolutionoflove".
But fans of the singer have reacted badly to her attempt at showing support for the victims and the LGBTQ community.
One fan wrote: "@Madonna are you serious right now?
"This isn't about you and your fake a** kiss for publicity. I would think you'd know better."
Another added angrily: "@Madonna this post is on a new level of disrespect.
"Publicity is not on the same level as love."
While one simply commented: "Madonna... hunny.... why... ?"

Madonna commented on the post and said: "What has happened in Orlando is Devastating. My heart Goes Out to all the Victims of the Shooting and to their Families. Stop Hate Crimes!!!!"
On another picture of her looking tearful, the performer quoted #ArtForFreedom and wrote "you cannot use religion to treat other people badly. You cannot use God's name to treat other people badly.
"We all deserve love."
