Ex-Coronation Street star Faye Brookes is confirmed as the fourth Dancing On Ice celebrity
EX-CORONATION Street star Faye Brookes has been confirmed as the fourth star to join Dancing On Ice.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Faye was taking part in the show earlier this month.
And today the bubbly actress, 33, told Lorraine Kelly she is raring to go, a year after quitting the role of Kate Connor in the soap.
"Finally the news is out. I'm so excited," she buzzed.
"I had to meet with the team they had to see me on the ice and a few of the basics were filmed.
"This is the first time people are going to see me not being a character, not hiding behind anything, just Faye."
The star has no idea how she will fare on the ice, joking: "I might be Bambi on the first day, who knows."
Faye is yet to be partnered with a pro skater, but they when she is they will form a bubble to stay safe from coronavirus.
The star reassured Lorraine that all precautions necessary are in place to keep the show Covid-free.
Giving some insight into how she's prepared, she said: "Ice skating is a massive strain on the body, so hats off to all of the pros. I'm definitely up for the challenge though. I'm keeping myself happy in lockdown and having Joe (Faye's personal trainer boyfriend) by my side training is the icing on the cake."
Yesterday Denise Van Outen was the third celebrity confirmed for the show.
The theatre star, 46, announced the news on Loose Women, following the signings of Myleene Klass and Joe-Warren Plant.
Sitting wearing a pink jumper, a beaming Denise said: "I'm really excited, I can't believe it and finally I get to tell people!"
She told the panel her daughter Betsy, 10, will be "so excited because she loves the show and we watch it every year."
The multi-talented star continued: "Hopefully I'll be able to skate because I literally cannot stand up on ice and every time I've taken Betsy at Christmas time to a rink I've been the one on the penguin!"
"After the year we've all had it's going to be lovely and refreshing to see a bit of sparkle, a bit of glamour and see us all happy and smiling enjoying ourselves on the ice."
It was previously reported that Denise, who made the finals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, signed a £40,000 deal after impressing bosses.
"After some top secret negotiations, Denise was offered the chance to take part and she jumped at the chance," a source told the .
"She's signed a deal worth £40,000. Bosses are thrilled to have her on board. They know she will give it her all in training and be popular with viewers."
In July, The Sun exclusively revealed that at least 17 hopefuls turned up to audition for the 12 spots on next year's series.
Among those seen leaving were former England and Chelsea footballer Wayne Bridges, 39, heptathlon champ Denise Lewis, 47, and swimmer Mark Foster, 50.
Denise was also spotted leaving the Slough Ice Arena.
With TV work scarce during the virus pandemic, insiders said there was an “undercurrent of competition” on the rink.
A source said: “Everyone was in high spirits and excited to be working again.
“Places on a primetime show are lucrative and contestants get a huge career boost by taking part.
“There are likely to be other auditions for celebrities based in more remote areas, and even abroad.”

The radio host gushed on Instagram: "I am so, SO excited to be joining the cast of . My girls have always wanted me to do this but I’ve always been too scared someone will skate over my fingers!"
