KATE Garraway is suffering from a mysterious eye injury, telling fans: "It really hurts."
The 53-year-old Good Morning Britain star was left struggling while presenting her show on Smooth Radio.
She returned to the station earlier this month after taking a break while husband Derek Draper was left seriously ill in hospital after catching coronavirus.
Speaking for the benefit of listeners who were watching her on Instagram, she asked: "Morning - am I looking clever?
"I always think that when I've got my glasses on I look a bit more brainy. But if you're listening to me on Smooth Radio you'll know that nothing has actually changed.
"I've got a really sore eye. It's really hurting and I don't know what I've done to it. I can't put my contacts in and I'm wearing my glasses."
She added, in true DJ style: "The songs however, are as perfect as they always are here on Smooth Radio so do join me."
Fans were quick to reassure her, with one writing: "You ARE very clever, bright, beautiful, courageous, brave, funny, amaxing, strong and a heart of gold💛 👌🏻💗💗💗💗."
Another told her: "You make me smile so much Kate !!!!! Keep going you superstar xx."
Smooth Radio star Kate said she was feeling "braver" about going outside after being sped to the station on the back of a motorbike.
Posting a video of herself being driven into town, she wrote: "It feels good to be braving doing more and seeing my friends from @limobikelondon again."
Kate's husband Derek was rushed to intensive care with coronavirus back in March. He was put into a coma shortly afterwards - and he remains with limited consciousness.
The 53-year-old is still unable to speak, with doctors warning he may stay in his current condition.
