David Beckham makes socks and sandals ‘cool again’ by wearing them to Victoria’s fashion show
DAVID Beckham has made socks and sandals "cool again" after wearing them to wife Victoria’s London Fashion Week show.
The former footie star's fashion choices over the years have often attracted more attention than his performances on the pitch.
The former Manchester United ace, 45, has rocked a few dodgy hairdos and questionable outfits over the years – but fans were quick to praise his latest bold fashion choice.
David turned out to support designer wife Victoria, 46, at her London Fashion Week show launch.
The couple — along with sons Romeo, 18, Cruz, 15, and daughter Harper, nine — wore Covid coverings at the Victoria Miro gallery in East London.
Afterwards, they posed for a snap without the masks - and eagle eyed fans quickly noticed that David was rocking the sock and sandals combo.
Followers flocked to comment saying it looked “cool”.
One fan wrote: “Only can wear white socks with sandals and look cool.”
A second fan said: “My dad asked me the other day if it was acceptable to leave the house in socks and sandals. I said no. Please can you let him know that according to David Beckham, I was wrong and he should just crack on.”
Another posted: “I take it back. If Becks is wearing socks and sliders then it’s ok.”
A third joked: “Living for @davidbeckham wearing tracksuit bottoms and socks with sandals to the show. Fair play!!!”
But not all fans were impressed by the star's controversial combo.
One wrote: “If my hubby were coming to my show dressed like that I would send him back home to change.”
Another joked: “Fashion victims.”
A third added: “Omg is @davidbeckham wearing socks and sliders 😂🤦♀️.”
Meanwhile, Romeo looked incredibly stylish in a V-neck jumper with black trousers and a silver necklace and watch.
His brother Cruz wore a black button-up shirt and a pair of navy shorts and completed the look with a Christian Dior saddle bag.
Harper looked beautiful in a purple maxi floral dress that she teamed with a pair of Doc Martins.
Fashion designer Victoria looked elegant as ever wearing a pair of straight black trousers and a crisp white shirt complete with a black bow at the front.
David has poked fun at his past fashion fails before including his iconic sarong, sleeveless shirts and all-leather outfits.
Last week The Sun exclusively reported David and Victoria secretly battled coronavirus after catching it schmoozing in the States.
Several relatives and staff members also came down with the killer bug following the launch of Becks’ new football club.
Victoria, 46, feared they may be “super-spreaders” after flying back to the UK for son Brooklyn’s 21st birthday do, with guests such as Stormzy and Emma Bunton.
Tests later confirmed the couple’s Covid diagnosis.
The pair's eldest son Brooklyn, 21, was not in attendance as he remains in New York with his new fiancée Nicola Peltz.
