‘Don’t split Michelle and Steve up!’ Fans threaten to stop watching Corrie after the Rovers Return landlord and lady call time on their relationship

Viewers take to Twitter to show their upset at the soap favourites splitting

CORRIE fans were left heartbroken tonight, after one of The Street’s favourite couples split up.

Pub landlord Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and his partner Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh called last orders on their relationship, after she walked out him on this evening’s episode.

Things haven’t been good between the Rovers Return pair since she told him that she had cheated on him with her first love Will.

The constant fighting between the couple has also taken its toll on Steve’s young daughter, Amy, who last night even considered moving back in with her mum Tracy.

Michelle has become more and more worried about the affect the constant bickering is having on the teenager.

Michelle had her bags packed and ready to leave

With her bags packed by the door, she called Steve into the hallway, and said: “I think it’s for the best.”

With Steve retorting: “So you are just gonna walk out?”

She tells him he has made it clear he doesn’t want her around, with him biting back: “Come on I had a right to be upset.”

They go back and forth, and it all starts to get too much for Michelle, who starts to well up.

He asks her where she is going to go, and then accuses her of going to stay with “him”, meaning Will.
But Michelle tells him Carla said she could stay at her flat.

The whole scene ends on a tearful note, with Steve calling after her as she leaves, telling her to “come back” and that they can “work it out”.

But this emotional scene sent viewers into complete turmoil.
