Zara McDermott in crisis talks with Sam Thompson as she vows to prove he can trust her after cheating scandal
ZARA McDermott is facing crisis talks with her boyfriend Sam Thompson as her relationship hangs in the balance after the couple were rocked by her cheating scandal.
Made In Chelsea star Sam, 28, ended their 16-month relationship after he discovered her fling with music boss Brahim Fouradi during The X Factor: Celebrity.
Heartbroken Sam left to film Channel 4’s The Circle after the bombshell revelation – and now sources close to Zara, 23, say she has vowed to win him back by showing he can trust her again.
An insider exclusively told The Sun: “Their relationship is hanging in the balance.
“Sam left to film The Circle saying he couldn’t be with Zara right now.
“She’s fighting so hard to get him back. She’s going to do everything she can to prove he can trust her again.
“Even though it’s split them apart right now, people have got through worse in their relationships and gone on to be stronger.
“She loves him so much and isn’t giving up hope that he’ll forgive her.
“There are plans for them to meet up as soon as Sam is back. It’ll be make or break for their relationship.”
The Love Island beauty and Made In Chelsea star’s split shocked fans when it was revealed on Thursday.
Last night Zara spoke out for the first time since the allegations with a cryptic post.
The photo shows the reality star in a black-and-white snap bent over in white lingerie as she pouts to the camera.
The caption reads: “it’s never black and white”
The Sun has contacted a representative for Zara for comment.
The couple had been together for 16 months before their split.
They reportedly ended their relationship last month after a seemingly loved-up trip to Mykonos.
Their relationship is said to have taken a turn for the worse due to lockdown, with 23-year-old Zara and 28-year-old Sam constantly arguing.
A source explained: “They had been arguing a lot since moving in together as a result of lockdown and things just built up between them.
“Zara has moved back to her parents’ house in Essex where she’s taking some time for herself, she really loved Sam so this hasn’t been easy for her.”
The insider continued to : “Sam has gone away to have a break from it all and clear his head away from Zara and social media.
The revelation comes just days after Sam’s sister Louise posted a cryptic tweet about cheaters – which was said to have been directed at a “friend”, not her fiancé Ryan Libbey.
She wrote at the time: “Cheaters always want you to be loyal while they’re being unfaithful”.
After concerning fans with the wellbeing of her own relationship, an insider added to the publication that things between Louise and Ryan are “really great”.
Sam and Zara used to regularly post loved-up pictures and videos to social media, including their popular TikTok accounts.
However, they haven’t shared any couple content since August.
The pair confirmed their romance in May 2019 following Zara’s split from Love Island hunk Adam Collard.
She even joined Made In Chelsea, the show that made Sam and Louise famous, and the former couple were seen regularly arguing about his friendship with ex-girlfriend and co-star Tiffany Watson.
They moved in together at the start of lockdown, with Zara openly admitting that living together had put a strain on their romance.
She said in July: “I have learnt more about Sam in the last couple of months than I have the whole of last year. Sam is quite a weird person.
“It hasn’t been plain sailing for us like we have argued over the most stupid things. I would think ‘Why am I arguing with Sam over who’s unloading the dishwasher today?'”
Meanwhile, in the same month, Sam confessed that he was thinking of proposing to Zara.
The star is famed for being unlucky-in-love and previously appeared on Celebs Go Dating twice.
