X Factor winner Megan McKenna in talks with major record companies for new deal after Simon Cowell ditches Syco label
CELEBRITY X Factor winner Megan McKenna is in talks with major record companies after the collapse of Simon Cowell's Syco label.
The reality star turned country singer, 27, had hoped to release new songs with Syco Music, but the label that was once home to One Direction and Little Mix is no more.
Its demise comes just two months after Simon signed it over to Sony Music so that he could focus on his TV company, which makes his Got Talent shows.
However, Megan has no need to worry as she now has major labels fighting to sign her up - and she still has Simon as a mentor.
A source told The Sun: "The good thing is that Megan is a songwriter so everything she wrote in Nashville and LA is all her own music, she has no issues there."
And while Simon might have moved on from the music business, he's still keen to help Megan's career succeed.
"It's a dream situation," said the source. "Simon said he can call her whenever she wants and will always be at the end of the phone.
"Megan's happy as it means she can choose where she wants to go and isn't tied down."
No stranger to releasing music without the backing of industry giant, Megan tasted chart success in 2018 with her debut album Story Of Me.
She toured the country in support of it and even performed one of its singles Everything But You in her X Factor audition.

Megan's dazzling singing talent, songwriting ability and desire to perform original tracks proved a hit with the show's judges Simon, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.
In the final she beat YouTubers Max and Harvey to the prize with a cover of Leona Lewis's One More Sleep.
Earlier this year, Megan excited fans as she shared a picture with Simon at his Malibu home and revealed they'd been taking part in meetings and listening sessions as she got to work on her next album.
