Sarah Harding’s CBB ex Chad Johnson is ‘praying’ for her to pull through after losing his mum to breast cancer
SARAH Harding's ex Chad Johnson has sent his love to singer hoping she will pull through her cancer diagnosis.
It comes after the Girls Aloud singer, 38, announced she was battling breast cancer and the disease had spread to other parts of her body.
Chad, 33, started dating Sarah after meeting inside the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017.
While Sarah would go on to win the series, Chad came fifth and the couple had a short-lived romance after the show.
But that did not stop Chad from "praying" for his ex and knows how "rough" cancer can be after losing his mum to the disease.
"Sarah always reminded me of my mum and my mum went through the exact same thing," he told the MailOnline.
"It sucks, I am hoping and praying the absolute best for her because I know how difficult the situation can be.
"My mum had breast cancer and it got into her blood and her liver. I know what Sarah is going through, I mean, I have seen it from day one to the very end and I just hope that she can recover."
The Bachelor star added: "I know how rough it is, once you go there there's no real coming back. You're always worrying about it. I took care of my mum the whole time."
Sarah broke her social media silence last month to announce her devastating diagnosis.
Chad explained her low public profile might be her way of coping with cancer.
"Some people don't want anyone making a fuss and I think that's why Sarah's avoiding being on social media," he explained.
"She will want to maintain who she is and not become the sick person."
Chad said he wants to reach out to Sarah but does not want to seem disingenuous with his concern.
"I don't want to come off unauthentic like 'I hope you're well' I want it to be like I am actually checking on her. But I can imagine she's getting 1000s and 1000s of messages," he said.
The Only Fans star also blamed their agents for splitting the couple up.
"It sucks that our relationship disappeared. Our agents told us not to do anything or to be seen and that we needed to hide, so we hid and I went home… but then I was like wait, why the f*** did we hide?
"No one had any updates of what was going on with us and it wasn't going to work long-distance."
On August 26 Sarah made the heartbreaking revelation on Twitter that she has breast cancer and it has advanced to other parts of her body.
She posted a photo of herself from her hospital bed and said she is "fighting as hard as I possibly can" as she shared the shocking news.
She tweeted: "Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping safe and well during these uncertain times.
"I’ve not posted on here for so long, thank you to everyone who has reached out to check in on me, it really does mean a lot.
"I feel now is the right time to share what’s been going on.
"There’s no easy way to say this and actually it doesn’t even feel real writing this, but here goes.
"Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.
"I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can."
Sarah's Girls Aloud bandmates expressed their love and support online.
