HE tried to break America in the Nineties but failed so now Robbie Williams is having another crack.
Though this time the Angels hitmaker is going down a different route, giving the singing a rest and trying his hand at television.
Robbie reckons he has a host of opportunities awaiting him Stateside.
And the wheels are already moving, as he has revealed he has comedy projects on the go.
Robbie said: “I have an abundance waiting for me.
“I am very, very excited about all the opportunities out there at the minute as I do want to go and test out new lands and those new lands happen to be televisual.
SOLD-OUT STINT
“A bit of America in there too.
“There are hints, scraps, pointers saying, ‘Come to America, Robbie. Do a TV show with us’, which is nice, and I am going, ‘Thank you, you can wait for me though’.
“There are, like, several TV projects I have got going that I am really, really excited about.”
Robbie first had a go at trying to make a name for himself across the pond in 1999.
He recently joked: “Look, America, I am a big deal. I know you don’t know me.
“You didn’t dig it.” But he enjoyed a sold-out stint during a residency in Las Vegas last year.
Now he looks set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of James Corden and Mark Wright in the hope of becoming a household name in the US on the small screen.
Robbie told his At Home With The Williamses podcast: “There are some comedy things, there is some mainstream 7.30pm and 8.30pm stuff at the weekend that I am excited about.”
Speaking to his American wife Ayda, he added: “But here’s the thing. I have figured out once Covid ends, and these opportunities avail themselves, that means I will be working all year.
“I will also say, just to make it clear, to people who say, ‘Yes but we work all year’, it is like working on an oil rig, my gig. You spend six months working away from your family, maybe even more, and that is the rub.
“It is the nature of the beast. The beast is lots of fun, which is striking a balance, which I have never been good at.”
I’m sure the pay cheque will make it all worthwhile.

Lottie's the life and sole
LOTTIE Moss wouldn’t have looked out of place at a Hell’s Angels meet in these heavy-duty biker boots, which she teamed with a black dress and handbag.
The supermodel sister of Kate Moss partied with a mystery man at celebrity hotspot Tape nightclub in central London on Wednesday after earlier being spotted at Soho House.
She looked in good spirits as she jumped into a black cab with her male pal.
Lottie has just come back from a sun-drenched break in Mykonos, Greece, where she was seen letting off some steam with friends including Love Island’s Chris Hughes.
Life is just one big party for some . . .

Sigala: Lew chose James
AFTER James Arthur blocked him on Twitter and wrote a diss track many fans believed to be about him, you wouldn’t blame Lewis Capaldi for keeping his distance.
But I’ve learned it was the Scot singer who handpicked James to sing on Lasting Lover, the new track he wrote for .
In an exclusive interview, Sigala explained: “The song came about last September when I was sent a demo from Lewis’s team.
“We had to find somebody to sing it and it was cool, because he wanted to be involved in that process and help look for people to make the song the best it could be. We agreed that James was number one on that list.”
Now Sigala is hoping any bad vibes are well and truly forgotten between the pair, adding: “It would be great to get us all together. Maybe him and James can do a duet of the song.”
Sigala, who has become one of the most prominent names in British dance music, released the song today as his first post-lockdown tune.
But while most people have hated being stuck inside this year, it’s been a treat for him.
The DJ, real name Bruce Fielder, got a dog called Rodney and finally had the chance to spend some quality time with his girlfriend after years on the road.
The Easy Love hitmaker said: “I’ve been touring constantly for the past six years and haven’t had a proper break, so I was welcoming the lockdown.
“It’s been an opportunity to finish loads of stuff. I think a lot of people are going to be releasing lockdown albums so I will be among them, I’m sure at the end of the year or early next year.”
Not Led astray
THEY were once the biggest band in the world and Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant thanks football for keeping his feet on the ground during the madness in the Seventies.
The Wolves-mad lead singer said: “By the time I was 21 I could’ve ended up hanging out in a cottage somewhere or I could go to a soccer match and get right in the middle of the frenzy and the communion, and I did the latter. I could become part of something then be separate.”
But fame did land him in some awkward spots. He told Digging Deep podcast: “In Barcelona (the fans) were held in by the cops. My chums were going, ‘Planty, tell ’em who you are’. I said, ‘It’s bad enough that you know’. And the cops were asking them, ‘Who is this?’”
Irina's thigh jinx
IRINA Shayk looked like she had left her trousers at home when she was spotted out and about in New York.
The Victoria’s Secret model opted for tiny cycling shorts under an oversized jumper which she wore with knee-high snakeskin boots for her walk in The Big Apple.
Not that she was bothered – the Russian beauty even stopped to take a selfie of her outfit.
If I was her, I’d have legged it home sharpish.

Funny Cardi Rocks Chris
IF she ever gives up rapping, Cardi B could go into comedy, according to stand-up legend Chris Rock.
The US comic says the Wap star – whose explicit track about women’s lady parts is expected to be this week’s UK No1 – is so funny that he contacted her about doing a show.
Chris told Naomi Campbell’s YouTube show No Filter With Naomi: “Cardi B is a comedic genius.
“About five or four years ago, before she had a record out, I’d seen Cardi on Instagram. I had my people reach out to her management and we had a meeting about her doing a comedy show. But I couldn’t get Comedy Central to jump on.”
