BBC Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo signs up for Strictly Come Dancing
BBC RADIO 1 DJ Clara Amfo is the latest celebrity to have signed up for Strictly Come Dancing, The Sun can reveal.
The 36-year-old presenter can't wait to take to the famous ballroom this autumn as she competes for the iconic glitterball trophy.
A source close to the star explained: "Clara is a massive fan of Strictly and couldn't be more excited to show off her footwork.
"She can't wait to take on the challenge and is definitely going to be one to watch this series."
It was reported earlier this summer that Clara was in talks with producers about taking part in the hit show, and The Sun Online can reveal that she has now signed on the dotted line.
A rep for the dance show said: "The line-up will be announced in due course."
Clara will be joining the likes of Max George, Caroline Quentin, and Jason Bell - who were the first three celebrity contestants to be confirmed by Strictly this evening.
Last month, she remained coy when asked if she'd be taking part in this year's show - insisting that she is "just a fan".
Clara said at the time: "It's an amazing show and I'd be honoured if they asked me, I'm just a fan of the show.
"I've got friends who've done it – Dev [Griffin] from Radio 1 did it and he was robbed. It's such an amazing show but I'm just a fan."
An insider had previously told : "Clara is now a familiar BBC face and producers want her. The show wants to cast a diverse range of talent."
The airwaves favourite first found fame as a Nickelodeon host, also presenting CBBC before starting her radio career on KISS FM in London.
