Is Matthew McConaughey joining Magic Mike Live?
Biceps and baby oil at the ready, the Las Vegas show may get even sexier
MAGIC Mike fans rejoice, as Matthew McConaughey appears to be toying with the idea of joining the live version of the show in Las Vegas.
The sexy 46-year-old appeared in the 2012 box office stripper smash as strip club owner Dallas, and had audiences getting hot under the collar for his killer abs, and slick dance moves.
When E! News asked the Texan actor whether he'd be performing in the show that kicks off in Las Vegas in March 2017, Matthew revealed that the idea sounds fun despite not being asked to join yet. But something tells us he might get that call soon...
"I wasn't invited (to the upcoming live show in Las Vegas). I didn't even get the call.
"To show up and just Dallas it out? That'd be fun!"
Getting stripper-ready for a live show shouldn’t be a problem for Matthew, who confessed back in 2012, that hundreds of women seeing him naked was all the motivation he needed.
“Naked in front of 300 women - and a camera that is immortalising that ass!
“Vanity is great motivation, to be fair. Plus, vanity is good for commerce when you're a male stripper.”
Following Magic Mike and the hugely successful sequel in 2015, Magic Mike XXL, star and co-writer of the screenplay, Channing Tatum, 36, decided to create a live show for The Hard Rock Las Vegas.
Channing will direct the yearlong show, in association with Cosmopolitan.com, alongside the film’s choreographers Alison Faulk and Teresa Espinosa, but admitted audiences won’t be seeing him every night, unless he buffs up enough.
“If I’m ever in shape enough to do that again, I’ll absolutely go out and have a fun night or two.”
The actor says he wants Magic Mike Live to “empower women” and move away from the classic strip show format forward, so he’s asking female fans to tell him and his team exactly what they want to see.
“God knows, we have enough gentleman's clubs in this country so let's start the first gentleladies club. Or maybe not so gentle. Depends what you're into.
“So please leave your comments and let us know what you want. We're going to create it for you.”
