Who is in the cast of Strike: Lethal White on BBC One from Tom Burke to Holliday Grainger

THE highly-anticipated show Strike: Lethal White has returned to screens after a two-year hiatus.

The series follows the cases undertaken by private investigator Cormoran Strike and his assistant and secretary, Robin Ellacott

Harry Potter author JK Rowling wrote the original Strike crime fiction novels under the guise of Robert Galbraith.

The adaptation of Lethal White, the fourth season in the Strike franchise, follows the book of the same name, which was published back in September 2018.

Strike originally broadcast in 2017 with adaptations of The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm. The show last aired in 2018 with Career of Evil.

Who is in the cast of Strike: Lethal White on BBC One?

Tom Burke stars as the titular character Cormoran Strike, but who joins him in the new series of Strike?

Tom Burke

Tom Burke, who looks unrecognisable outside of his role, returns as Cormoran Strike, a detective and ex-Royal Military Police investigator who lost part of his right leg in Afghanistan.

In the series, Cormoran is in his late thirties, the illegitimate son of a former rock star and a former Special Investigation Branch investigator.

He's now set up shop in Denmark Street and is running a small private detective agency.

Tom is best known for his role in War And Peace (2016) and long-running fantasy epic The Three Musketeers.

Holliday Grainger

Tom Burke is once again joined by partner-in-crime-solving Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger) for a case that takes them to the heart of parliament.

Holliday Grainger, 31, will be recognised as Lady Constance Chatterley in the BBC's adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover, and starred as 'Ugly Sister' Anastasia in the real-life version of Disney's Cinderella.

Holliday made an early start in the showbiz world with her first acting part coming at the age of six in the BBC series All Quiet on the Preston Front.

Her other screen credits include parts in Merlin, Casualty and Doctors.

Kerr Logan

Kerr Logan, 32, stars as Matthew Cunliffe who just married Robin in the series, and has arrived back from his honeymoon.

Matthew is quite a spineless character, and not the most likeable.

Kerr's first high profile role came playing Mathos Seaworth in the hit TV show Game Thrones and playing James McDermott in Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace for Netflix and CBC.

Natasha O’Keeffe

Natasha O'Keeffe, 33, plays Charlotte Ross.

She is a British stage, television and movie actress known for her roles as Abbey in the British television series Misfits, Fedora in ITV's television series Jekyll and Hyde, and as Lizzie Stark in the BBC series Peaky Blinders.

Describing her character in the series, she said: "I think she’s the kind of damaged character who makes an entrance, shakes everything up a bit, and then leaves."

Joseph Quinn

Joseph Quinn plays Billy Knight, who is a homeless man who comes to Strike’s office begging for help about a terrible crime he witnessed as a child.

Quinn played Prince Paul in Catherine the Great, and Enjolras in the mini-series adaptation of Les Misérables.

He also played Leonard Bast in the mini-series Howards End, and Arthur Havisham in Dickensian.

Nick blood

Nick Blood plays Jimmy Knight, who is Billy's older brother.

Blood is best known for his role as Lance Hunter in Marvel TV series Agents of SHIELD.

He has also starred in the likes of Euphoria, Babylon, Him & Her, and The Bletchley Circle.

Robert Glenister

Robert Glenister plays Jasper Chiswell, who contacts Strike when he gets wind of the private detective’s dealings with Billy – who grew up on the Chiswell estate.

Glenister is known for playing Ash Morgan in the series Hustle, and for starring in a number of hit shows such as Spooks, Curfew, Cold Feet, and Law & Order: UK.

Sophie Winkleman

Sophie Winkleman plays Kinvara Chiswell, Jasper's second trophy wife.

Winkleman is best known for her role as Big Suze on the sitcom Peep Show.

She also played Lady Susan in Sanditon, and has starred in Two and a Half Men, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,  Trust, and Endeavour.

Adam Long

Adam Long plays Rafe Chiswell, Jasper’s charming and womanising younger son.

Rafe has a criminal record for running over a young mother.

Long is known for roles in Happy Valley, The Passing Bells, Home Fires, The Bay, and Bancroft.

Natalie Gumede

Natalie Gumede plays Lorelei, Strike's new girlfriend who runs a vintage store.

The couple met shortly after Robin’s wedding to Matthew.

Gumede is best known for her roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Death in Paradise, Free Rein, Titans, and Rig 45.

Robert Pugh

Robert Pugh plays the husband of Minister for Sport Della Winn, Geraint Winn.

Pugh played Mr. John Osborne in the ITV adaptation of Vanity Fair, and has previously starred in Silent Witness, Knightfall, Colette, Mr Selfridge, Doctor Foster, and Robin Hood.

He is best known for playing Craster in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Strike: Lethal White continues tonight (31 August) on BBC One at 9pm.

The show is a four-part drama, based on the book by JK Rowling of the same name.
