EastEnders’ Tamzin Outhwaite ‘devastated’ as thieves stole late mum’s ‘irreplaceable’ coat after breaking into her car
EASTENDERS' Tamzin Outhwaite was left "devastated" as thieves broke into her car and stole her late mum's "irreplaceable" coat.
The Mel Owen actress, 49, revealed she was woken up in the middle of the night by her car alarm.
Tamzin told her Twitter followers she left a packed suitcase in the back of her car for a project she was doing the next day.
However, thieves ransacked the car and made off with her favourite clothes and shoes - including her mum's priceless Jaeger coat.
She wrote on Twitter: "So at 1am I was woken by my car alarm going off. I had left a large suitcase in the boot, packed full of clothes, shoes, accessories & jewellery ready for a very early start this morning.
"I was supposed to be doing a favour for a friend on their creative project & my case was full of carefully selected outfits for a full day on this project today.
"Yes I called the police, & they were helpful, but I keep waking up remembering what was in the case. I am devastated.
"Yes my favourite clothes & shoes, but my mum’s favourite Jaeger coat that I have inherited. It was unique & irreplaceable.
"As soon as I realised the noise was MY car alarm I was out the door driving around looking for someone dragging a very heavy case but nothing. I know I should not have left it in the boot, even though it was locked but I thought I was being well prepared.
"Anyway. I’m gutted. If anyone sees a leopard print,beautiful jaeger coat in a 10 & a bunch of other clothes by @wyse_london @ScampandDude @marksandspencer @sweatybetty @Airandgrace trainers,some still with labels, please report it.thank you"
Tamzin says she is "devastated" by the theft and "can't sleep".
She added: "I can’t sleep as I keep remembering what was in the case. Nothing compares to the Jaeger coat , which i think of my mum wearing when i think of her. I know she would have said “ Tam they are just things. Possessions. Don’t worry” but I’m devastated"
The actress then thanked fans, saying: "Thank you all… I’m trying to react how my mum would. Calm. Philosophical."
Tamzin's mum Anna died suddenly in 2017.
While dealing with this sad news, Tamzin is lined up to take part in this year's I'm A Celebrity alongside ex-Strictly star AJ Pritchard.
Tamzin, 49, has been a top target for BBC’s Strictly this year, while AJ, 25, has left the annual dancing contest after four years.
A source exclusively told The Sun: “Strictly would like to think that no one leaves the show and goes on to bigger things, but AJ will be very popular in the jungle and it’ll be a good platform for him.
“His deal is all but done and ITV are delighted they’ve been able to prise him away from their rivals.

“Meanwhile, it’s early days with Tamzin but she’s someone producers have discussed going to Oz in the autumn — and she’s told pals she is 100 per cent not taking part in Strictly.
“There’s some way to go in negotiations but she’s more likely to be eating a kangaroo testicle than wearing sequins this year.”
