‘I’m silver!’ Phillip Schofield tells off Holly Willoughby for calling him ‘grey’ on This Morning
Co-presenter discovered the one way to anger TV's Mr Nice Guy
HOLLY Willoughby learnt the hard way why you should never mess with silver fox Phillip Schofield.
The This Morning presenters were discussing an upcoming topic on tomorrow’s show which was near and dear to 54-year-old Phil’s heart – how to embrace your silver locks.
He first of all took umbrage when actress Demi Moore was used as an example.
“Why her! Why not me?” He questioned.
Trying to soothe him, Holly, 35, responded: “Because she’s recently gone gracefully grey.”
Phil wasn’t having it however.
He argued: “She has only gone a bit grey.”
Stunned, Holly replied: “Alright – you’re very territorial of your grey.”
To which he shot back: Of course I am!
“I think I’d like to call it silver as well as a matter of fact.”
Well and truly told, Holly giggled “Sorry,” as they continued with the show.

The self-styled king of daytime telly got his first grey hair when he was just 16-years-old, but religiously dyed his locks chestnut brown until he hit 40.
Reflecting on that decision, he said: “Looking back, I think I made a mistake though. I should have let it go gradually.”
While now his trademark and one for which he is celebrated by housewives across the UK, he hasn't always taken it in his stride.
He first revealed his despair over the subject in an interview in 2012.
Phil told TV Times: “I hate it. It causes me deep personal anguish
“I am only about 26 in my head. There’s currently a repeat of an old show I did - National Lottery Winning Lives-going out on Challenge TV every day.
“And I constantly have people tweeting me saying ‘I can’t believe what you looked like before you had grey hair,’ I just can’t bear it.”
It wasn’t all doom and gloom on today’s visit to the sofa however.
Earlier on, the presenting duo found themselves in uncontrollable fits of laughter.
It occurred when they were introducing a segment in which they asked viewers to call in with any examples of when they have sent a text to the wrong person.
Having a read through what was being sent in, smiles suddenly crept across the affable two-some’s faces.
Phil remarked of one that the very same thing had happened to a crew member, but that they couldn't reveal what because it was “too rude”.
However their giggles soon got the better of them.
Holly pleaded: “Stop it. I'm going to cry my eyelashes off.”
The mum-of-three then slumped onto a nearby chair in an attempt to compose herself.
