THIS Morning host Phillip Schofield today slammed Noel Edmonds over his controversial views on cancer.
The Deal Or No Deal presenter, 67, was on the show to explain his beliefs about health.
Yesterday he was slammed after he questioned if a cancer sufferer was sick because of how he thought.
He tweeted: “@VaunEarl Scientific fact-disease is caused by negative energy. Is it possible your ill health is caused by your negative attitude? #explore.”
It led to a huge backlash after a man suffering from the disease criticised him for promoting a £2,000 medical device.
After reading the tweet out, Phillip said: “If anything its insensitive.”
During the tense interview the silver-haired host asked him to explain himself.
Defensively, Noel told him: “No, it’s wasn’t a conversation. This was a tweet I put out about positive energy.
“I’ve never said negative thinking causes cancer, your promo is wrong and I want to be positive.”
He added: “Pulsed electromagnetism can help with tackling cancer - tackling.
“It was based on my belief of tackling cancer."
When asked by co-host Holly Willoughby if he would say that to a small child, he hit back saying: “I think you’re missing the point.
“The point here is there is information to all of us who enquire.
“I started to get out there and ask questions.”
Noel, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013 and has since recovered, claimed: “My tumour was destroyed by sound waves.”
Meanwhile, viewers took to twitter to voice their concern at Noel’s comments.
One wrote: “Scientific fact? You insult all of us who have had or are suffering with any form of cancer. #NoelEdmonds #thismorning.”
Another tweeted: “Glad Holly Willoughby just shut down Noel Edmonds entire argument with that one question about children #NoelEdmonds #ThisMorning.”
While this viewer said: “Sorry Noel. Mr Blobby could explain his way out of this better.”
And another said: “Noel Edmunds needs to go back to opening boxes instead of spouting nonsense that 'negative thoughts cause cancers' #thismorning.”
This Morning is on ITV on weekdays at 10.30am
