Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon splits from boyfriend of four years after ‘lockdown drove them apart’
SOAP actress Lucy Fallon has split from boyfriend of four years Tom Leech — because lockdown “drove them apart”.
The Coronation Street star, 24, agreed to end their relationship before joining new ITV adventure series Don’t Rock The Boat.
Lucy, who recently left her role on the cobbles as Bethany Platt, is part of the 500-mile expedition where 12 famous faces have been challenged to row from Land’s End to John o’Groats.
A source said: “She and Tom have called it quits and are no longer together. They spent lockdown together but it gave them time to evaluate what they want.
“They decided taking time apart was the best idea and they have gone their separate ways.
“Tom has never courted the spotlight and has quit social media because he doesn’t want to see anything related to her.
“She has thrown herself into Don’t Rock The Boat and has been trying to keep busy with filming, but it’s not been easy.”
Lucy has put a brave face on the break-up — simply posting pictures and videos on social media with her new co-stars, including singer-songwriter Fleur East and YouTuber Joe Weller.
She met insurance manager Tom, 29, through pals and said she had hoped to get engaged.
Lucy listed her goals in February for this year and added: “I want Tom to propose to me.
“I knew him for a couple of years before because my best friend and his best friend have been together for seven years.
“We can’t split because double dates would go out of the window.”
In 2018, Lucy landed two Soap Awards and a National Television Award for her character Bethany’s grooming storyline.
The narrative, which played out over almost a year, saw Coronation Street praised for its handling of the topic.

Early in 2019, Lucy became the seventh Corrie star in three months to reveal they were quitting the soap.
On leaving in March this year, she said: “Corrie was my first job. I haven’t done anything else.
“I didn’t want to get to a point where I was wishing I’d tried more things. It might not work out but at least I tried.”
